Awesome stuff Tom, glad to hear the cars running smoothly once again. Crazy how lil mistakes can make the car go all over the place.

Oh and yeah you definitely need the ARB's, so glad mine are now on. Will get some pics up of when we did it yesterday all day whilst on the floor on a couple of axle stands lol

Hi Tom, I've been out of the U.K for a few days and looks like I've missed a lot but I'm glad it's all sorted. I wondered, when you got you Stage 2 done and your car was running 100%, how does your car feel now in comparison with 3" TIP?

I must have gone before you got there mate

Certainly am on the rollers on the 20th. Hopefully see it do well again. If it's not as cold as it was when it made 283bhp then I won't expect anymore tbh, that's enough for me at the mo

Thanks James. :)
Good to meet you too. Had a feeling McDonald's was going to be where I ended up, nice of you to join us!
Cheers for the add on fb by the way. I'll definitely see you at AmD, will be interested to see how your new toy does.

p.s, get a reader's ride going....

Cheers mate, am loving it again. Although my ABS sensor defo is knackered as the ESP light came back on today on the way home from Bluewater. It was still pulling like a train so only a slight niggle really.

ARB's will be done soon as finances allow mate don't worry.
Which one's did you go for? I can't wait to get them done with the braces too.

Hi Tom, I've been out of the U.K for a few days and looks like I've missed a lot but I'm glad it's all sorted. I wondered, when you got you Stage 2 done and your car was running 100%, how does your car feel now in comparison with 3" TIP?

Hi mate, yeah quite a bit has happened, had my MOT service and fixed the car up (see earlier posts) and now it is flying!
From the stage 2 day when it felt 100% to now with the 3" TIP I'd have to say it pulls harder with the 3" TIP fitted, I'm sure I could have made more power on that day of 283bhp have I had the 3" TIP on instead of the Forge TIP.

I can also hear the difference from that day to last night in terms of the car hauling in air to the turbo. You can hear it so much more, the dv also chatters now and makes some sweet vocal sounds. It did before, but it's been amplified. I take my hat off to Bill for getting a 3" TIP designed and put in production for us to get hold of in no time at all. I can tell without logs or a dyno run that there is a significant mass airflow gain to be had from this TIP. It's awesome :D

VAG tune did all that for me plus powerflex bushes in a day ;)

Nice mate! Maybe I'll give them a call this week about getting mine done. Price wise we're they competitive? And what are they like customer service wise?

Time to replace the fans!

UPDATE:

Decided on my next big spend and unfortunately it is a pretty lame one :ban:

I'm getting the whole fan arrangement replaced on the car as mine are absolutely ruined.

I cannot sit in traffic or at a set of lights without them kicking in and it's got to the point now where I can't put up with it much more! :censored:

The temp creeps over 90 everytime and it seems to be edging slightly more as time goes by, which concerns me slightly.

So if anyone has had their LCR fans replaced (complete system) please let me know of your experiences and what you paid if you feel like doing so.

I know this won't be really cheap to do, but they've never been done on the car and are letting it down at the moment.

I was going to be doing the brakes 1st, but as it's not a daily runner now and my recent MOT showed up enough life left on the pads/discs I've taken the decision to get the fans sorted before the warmer temperatures kick in and they completely seize up or something

Isn't this the resistor problem where it burns out or something? I think that SEAT quote for the whole unit to be replaced but if I remember right, you can use the resistor from the Golf 4motion as it's the same. I hope someone can elaborate...

I'm with you on the lame mods though, my latest expensive addition is just a different coloured tax disc.

Yeah I've been told it can be a resistor problem, but that's located within the fans isn't it? I'm not 100% on this either to be honest, but what I do know is they are knackered! :(

Haha, expensive tax disc you say, so guess you got that from Halfrauds?

When are you getting your custom exhaust work done matey?

This post here confirms that the 4motion unit fits: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=205218&highlight=lcr+fan+problem

A good serach for "LCR Fans" though brings up loads of threads :).

Nooo, I meant a new tax disc from the DVLA...£245 worth of paper disc :(.

I need to call them this week and book it in actually, thanks for the reminder lol.

Thanks for the link matey. Sure does confirm that. I have spoke to AmD who think from phone convo it will be either coolant temp sensor (agreed unlikely though as I've uprated for the green one a while ago) or it will be the control unit, then if not that it could well be the fans themself. I have a feeling it's the control unit which needs to be replaced. Going to get that replaced 1st and go from there see how they go. Not going to replace the lot at once as it's circa £500!

Oh lol! Well I opted for 6 months tax this time as I've got a holiday to pay for and wanted a bit more cash to maybe put towards these fans.

No worries for the reminder, anytime haha ;)

Hi mate,

These are the LED numberplate bulbs which I bloody love

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380194283606&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The LED sidelights, well the listing has ended on my item I bought but I'm 99% sure these are the one's, from the same seller:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280592931672&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570%26_nkw%3D280592931672%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

Hope that helps...

Cheers for the link Lee. My mate has brought this up that there might be a resistor fix.. Looks like a need a day to read into that on ukmkivs to see what I've got to do. I'm a complete tool when it comes to resistors and the like, but it could well be worth a go!

Haha, cheers mate.

I do prefer the look of the mk1's if I'm honest! I like the mk2's power potential at stage 2+, but I really don't find them as nice to look at.

This Fast Show?

I have no idea, not even thought about going. But if I'm about could well do.
