K&N vs Pipercross vs Green Cotton

x2 had k&n on my first cupra ran poorly , so changed to pipercross never used anything else since

i have k&n in at the mo but thinking of swaping to green cotton, iv heard only bad things about them with vag cars and maf sensors

It is standard at the moment. Ive just heard they breathe better. Im guessing its all down to preferance but ive heard people say they not happy with the k&n, ive used pipercross products before. (not panel) viper kit on an old car. and green cotton is new to me. so everyones thoughts would be much appretitated

to be honest standard filter is more than fine from my experiences , but i think for most people performance is pyscological more than actual , cause to be honest pipercross or many others i've tried didn't actually make a huge difference more for induction noise than performance , if you want real gains take the whole thing off, just run with th airbox and filter lololol only jokin

If they breathe better they are not filtering as well then, saying that i use a jetex cone filter lol

Sucking in hot air? or you got a heat shield?

open cone filter are great when weather is cool but when hot i found they actually cause you to lose power get a heatshield on for the summer time

haha. I liked my old viperkit. you cant go wrong with an enclosed induction just wanna keep the car standard

Still making 218 bhp though, might try the standard air box and see if any difference.

Yeah i had the viper on my last car, but couldn't log it like you can on a vag.

Best drilling some holes in the lower air box, but then you are back to sucking hot air in too.

Cool what you had done? Ive heard alot of people drill bottom of boxes but i dont really want noise as it makes it alot louder doesnt it?

Ive got a Green cotton panel filter (smoothed air box) on mine atm and never had any problems with it ... but i just bought a new heat sheild off JamJay and going to buy a jetex cone

Jetex 007 and a tweaked stage1 map.
Yeah if you want quietness keep the air box, and keep it standard.
Me, i like the dump sound ( the child in me no doubt lol)

I'm running the Jabba Sport Kit, uses the K&N Cone and a Heat Shield, no problems with mine! Love the noise it makes esp as i've also got 007p running, Stage 1 to follow

sorry split r are wank imo , open cone filter with 007p is more than enough dumping sound, but don't like bov sound unless its on a scooby or evo

I'm running a smoothed airbox with Green Cotton. I found smoothing the airbox made more of a difference than the air filter for performance but the filter allowed me to hear the turbo and DV better.
