I use one on my 1.9Tdi Ibiza Cupra... Brilliant! Make sure the engine is reasonably warm though... First time I used it, it took about 2 hours to suck the cold oil out! Oops!
Now I can do an oil (and filter change) in half the time, plus I can suck it all out of the oil heat exchanger too, which I had to previously disconnect underneath!
If you are only doing an intermediate - without the filter change - you won't even need to wash your hands afterwards!

Ordered the pump today. Hope it works ok with my engine.

Tried this today and only got 3ltrs of oil out. The car was parked facing down a slight incline, that usually gives a higher reading on the dip stick so assumed it would get more out.
I read on another forum that a guy had this and tried his facing uphill and got more out, but this was on a TDI.
The oil had only done about 3k so I just kept it out and put fresh stuff in. Means I have plenty left for top ups.
Anyone had this issue?

Yes mate, I had the exact same issue. Resorted to the good old fashioned way of getting under the car in the end.
My car was on level ground at the time.
Let us know if you have anymore joy pointing uphill.
What engine was it on? I measured the dipstick and marked the pipe for the pump to make sure it was into the engine enough. It even went down about and inch more. I could feel it hitting something that I assumes was the bottom.
I even dipped the oil after I pumped it out........and the dipstick was clear!!?!??!?

I too hit a rock solid bottom and thought I was into the bottom of the sump, but obviously not.
I wonder if the sump is baffled maybe and the suction tube hits it, not allowing full drainage
Yeah, but the dipstick was dry after pumping out all the oil I could.
Unless it doesn't actually register on the bottom of the dipstick till there's a litre of oil in there.

Not sure, unless the small size of the Dipstick goes through something in the sump
Someone who has had these engines in bits maybe able to shed some light maybe.
Although after shelling out for an Oil Filter Drainage Tool, I'll probably just carry on now the old fashioned way

Got it from a guy in America, it's a very good (chinese) copy of the VAG Tool

With regard to the pump, mine used to work perfectly on my Mk 1 LCR, so it must just be something in the TFSI's Sump or something.
Anyhow, for the cost of a filter I think your better off changing that too modified or not, it doesn't hurt to keep on top of things.
I read that it might have a horizontal baffled sump. It doesn't explain how the dipstick gets its reading though. It must be sitting off the bottom off the sump.
Without knowing for sure then I can only assume the Dipstick goes through a small hole into the sump.
What size pipe did the Pela come with?
Mines a Sealey and the smallest pipe has an OD of about 6mm
