Had my 1.6tdi since sept 09 and only used it for short journeys so never got decent mpg out of it, in fact, during the winter when it was cold it was drinking the fuel. Recently have changed jobs and am using the car to do about 600 miles per week and am getting an average of 60mpg out of it just doing 60ish mph on the motorway. The other day I did a journey of 70 miles down the M6 and the computer said 66 mpg when I got back, and I know my computer is reasonably accurate. Just goes to show if you do the miles you get the economy, but you have to do the miles.

If you do a lot of motorway journeys like me, the dpf isnt a problem at all...ive gota 2l tdi n get 46 mpg so im guessin ull get more than that if you drive sensible :D

Crap mpg from the looks of it.

Not all 1.6 TDI's give poor fuel economy :D

You should get that. Mine started a bit crappt but as the miles are getting on it is showing an improvement;)

A trip to the midlands and back yesterday with a 50-50 mix of country lanes and mway I go 62mpg average, car has done 4.5K. It dropped a lot this frosty morning though on the way to work but I was not hanging about, 45mpg average but it was running why I de-iced it.
