If you've not removed your throttle body at any point, then it probably won't need doing. If you have access to VAGCOM, give it a go, but don't pay to have it done.

Its been off! but before i had the car! so dont know if its right??? getting code 16711

Yes Lee i know but was thinking if it were incorrectly set wouldnt my fueling be out causing detonation??

It is possible, but the throttle body either runs wrongly (so the car doesn't even start) or it's ok. I don't think it can run badly enough to generate a knock sensor fault.

For a knock sensor fault, I'd look at plugs and coilpacks.
