I have a Leon Cupra Facelift with remap and intake.
So for next update, What is the best to go first for performance and motor reliability between S3 intercooler or Pipewerx downpipe with sport cat ?
I went for exhaust after Stage 1 then Intake but I will probably suffer more as it's getting hotter, but love the sound of the exhaust so glad I done it

Everyone has mixed opinions, I went for an intake and then stage 1 map. Then I got a blueflame downpipe with a 100 cell sports cat, fuel pump and jumped straight to stage 2+

What you have to remember on the TFSi engine is fuelling. Its all well and dandy to leave the fuel pump til last, or second last, but when you run higher boost via a map and an uprated air intake, your delivered fuel (channel 230 on VAGCOM) will not match requested fuel causing the engine to retard itself, sometimes to the point of cutout due to running lean.
I am not an APR fanboy either, but if I was to build another tuned 2.0T, it would have an APR pump and not a standard pump with uprated internals because the seals on the standard pump are only rated to standard ECU level fuel pressures. By running higher pressures on standard seals in an OEM pump with uprated internals, you run the risk of them failing and dumping fuel in to the oil. That is not good and could mean the requirement for a new engine. This actually happened to a reasonably well known Cupra K1.
yes i agree we need to have good fueling.
For me it should be good because I own a Leon Cupra Facelift TSI and on there I ear that I have already a good pump (130bar)
So with my remap (305HP and 480Nm), panel filter (don't want wooshy intake), and original intercooler and pump (130bar) I make some logs today with Race Diagnostics Liquid :
- intake temp : with 22.5°C air ambiant, I see 40°C max when I pull 2,3 and 4e gear to redline (make 2 times after 15km in normal use)... In normal condition I see around 30°C when driving cool... and when I stop engine after waiting 30sec I see 49°C
- air mass flow : 240g/s in 3e gear (only test one time)
So ... maybe as you tell It would be better to take an exhaust first because original intercooler make is job not too bad ... But for longer run or hot summer yes an intercooler is needed..
