To all forum members, please be aware of the following white leon cupra ( DU08 GCF ) which was purchased from Clarks of Kidderminster on 18/11/2010 for £12,995 and as of tuesday 31/5/2011 will be returned for good.
All of the following problems have been bought up with the dealer and have been logged with Seat UK. The car was purchased by my partner, who for some reason didnt test drive the car before purchasing it nor take anyone with her to check it out. All i can assume is the dealer seen her coming as it was also advertised with an ipod dock, which they later fitted due to us complaining and the advertised millage was out by 4k miles
So to start, as advertised all seat cars have a 102 point inspection prior to being sold to the public?
After arriving home and seeing the car on the drive i decided to give it the once over and found the following :-
* Engine cover/air box not secured and one of the rubber bungs was in the boot.
* Washer bottle nearly empty
*Screws holding on the air feed to the bumper were missing and was being held on by one wood screw.
*Front grill not secured
*Drivers front tyre at 19 psi all others were at 32 psi.
I inflated the tyre, fixed the grill and topped up the washer fluid and a few days later the car went back to the dealer which is a 100 mile round trip. They said there was nothing wrong with the engine cover, same for the deflating tyre and they had ordered the screws for the air feed.
The next day i took the car to a local garage and within 5 mins found a screw in the tyre which was casing a slow puncture, fixed at £12. After 3 weeks and no sign of the screws for the air feed i ordered them from central seat which took 3 days to arrive. I myself then drove over to the dealer with the invoices for the tyre repair and screws to get our money back, even though at under £15 thats still not the point. Though they were more interested in the vinyl wrapping on my car.
In December 2010 the car developed a squeak and for a second time did a 100 mile round trip to the dealer and back. Out come being that the alternator belt needed changing. A week later it went back to have this done, which they didnt do as id marked the belt with tip-ex prior. Also on return two of the alloys had been kerbed.
The car then failed its first MOT in march 2011 due to the front passenger tyre having a bulge. So two new front tyres which Clarks kindly picked up the bill for.
April 2011 the car developed a very loud/ bang rattle from the front drivers side, so as you can guess back it went. This time they changed the cam belt and broke the cam cover and fixed the rattle which was to do with the brake pipes. However it broke again on the way home so they took it back in. 4 days later the car returned only for me to find a broken cam cover and a snapped air feed. Back it went, they replaced the cam cover but instead of repalcing the air feed they replaced the engine cover????
Two weeks ago the brake rattle started again and we've had enough so its going back.
Just a few other points, the car has had 6 services since built but no paper work to show what has been done. Its been mapped, but by who we dont know. And i believe the previous owner had fitted an induction kit, which is why the air box didnt fit right and the air feed screws were missing from when he took it off to sell and give it a standard look
