hello
i am looking to change my key to a flip key, i see there are the standard units on ebay, but im not a hundred percent sure if they are the right ones. also they need programming as i understand, is this an expensive job? and how do i go about it??

Go for it mate, I done this 4 years ago and programmed it as per the owners manual - so easy, plus the range of the flip key is 10x better than the original key :D

yeah i wanna get it done, did you buy your key for ebay??? was it hard finding somebody to cut the key??

Yeah I got mine off ebay, think I paid 10quid and got it cut at Timpsons :D
Put the transponder (glass tube) from my old key into the new one and used the red key to programme the new one. All worked fine once I realised I had to keep the drivers window open during the programming!!!!

now in the process of finding a key on ebay!!!!! i dont have a red key with mine, i have one key with two buttons on and another key with no buttons on!!! will rember the window!!!!!

i think i am missing something here!!!! the only flip keys i find are 35-45 pounds???? any ideas???:(

Not the remote locking, you'd need a flip key with the separate radio transmitter for that.

The transponder is a passive device (no battery) that is interrogated by the immobiliser reading coil that surrounds the ignition lock. Without a matched transponder the car will start then cut out immediately and the immobiliser light on the warning panel will light up.
