Hi All

I've had my Mk2 facelifted Cupra now for about a year but i'm starting to get bored of it, i've had it remapped by Revo on a stage 1 but i feel that 300bhp is the most it can handle which is why the Cupra R is starting to make me think about changing but the only different between the 2 is that you get more extra's as standard a electronic limited slip diff to get the power advice need

dont you get the same electronic limited slip dif (XDS) on the facelift cupra so that isnt even an extra toy.

I would say that it would be a pointless upgrade to a cupra R from a facelift cupra

I personally couldnt justify the price for a Cupra R, or the insurance hike over the Facelifted Cupra I recently purchased.

Doesnt the R have the exact same XDS system as our facelifted Cupras, so still no mechanical LSD? Only difference is a slight power increase and cosmetic differences?

Go for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ400, it should see you right for a while and will handle major power through AWD when you get bored of the 3.8second 0-62mph time.

No point in going from FL Cupra to Cupra R. Probably some point in going from a FL Cupra to an RS if you value note, handling and extra toys, but better spending that coin on a Megane, 335i or an Evo X in my opinion. Or an S3 for that matter.

See if you can get a spin in what ever takes your fancy mate. If you pull up to a garage in a nice car and hint your interested in a P/X, they are normally inclined to give you a test drive.

Chicks dig an RS though, especially a green one LOL!

i didn't know the Cupra a XSD but saying that i had it mapped and yes is as quick as my m8's RS but i don't know i can't quite put my finger on it

i waas thinking of the EVO X but no an FQ-360 or the 400 more of the FQ300-330 version's they look the **** m8 but the high running cost's put me off them a bit only a lil bit tho:lol:

i was thinking of the Megane RS250 and Al you gonna be pissed at this but i drove a Megane and i picked the Cupra over it mainly because SEAT offered me nearly £2500 more then Renault for my Leon FR TDi

he outside of the RS looks the muts nuts but the interior isnt great , have you seen the steering wheel? looks like its been taken from an over order of bus steering wheels.
RS of old used to have nice smaller chunky wheels, ok im picking but sitting in one its not the most pleasent place to be for a 20K cae !

true about the inside of a £20k car the thing i don't like is how the pash is black then when you get to the foot well's is grey how does that work i do love the noise from that volvo powerplant and the exhaust is expict:drool:

I think the interior is alright. The dash/steering wheel plastics are actually quite good. They have that sort of 'soft padding' touch to them. TBH, compared to cupra plastics, they feel a lot more modern. The K1 center console, dash and steering wheel does feel a bit hard and cheap in comparrison.

I have to agree with the 2 tone interior though. I would have been better to keep it all black, however I think the idea is to blend in with the seat fabrics or somthing.

The best colour co-ordinated model you could get would be the performance blue, with the blue fabric inserts on the seats. This is good as it matches the blue stitching on the steering wheel/doors and the RS logo on the mats.

XDS is nothing like an LSD. Ignore anything that suggests otherwise.

Don't entertain a FQ300. The car is a heavy tub and the 4x4 saps the power, my stage 2 tdi is fit for them, you'd be disappointed moving from a Cupra IMO
