funny enough, I thought I overheard them saying "you should get the sack for that" to him, just after he'd worked on my car, and before he told me the problems. But thought he'd cracked a funny out of earshot. hmmmm

more likely that he should get the sack for going to the effort of fixing it via the torch for you and then giving you the choice rather than giving up and saying he cant do it and you must have them replaced.

All the places use heat on track rod ends etc. its not uncommon at all. Using oxy is just stupid though!

Well im Bournemouth area, but tbh I do all my own car work so cant reccommend anywhere from my experience. However I have heard that Christchurch Tyres are good for alignment/tracking/tyres etc.

Not on my cars they don't! It's sometimes taken a 'larger' mechanic to crack the fixings but they've never needed heat.

Lol, yeah but sometimes if they cant freeze and shock it, heat is the last resort. Must admit seen some heat them up before they have even tried! But then thats why i do everything myself lol
