• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
I've emailed them to find out about returning it.

Regarding Dave, it's does not work. If I have my foot on the floor it's takes a good 1.5 secs to do any thing. If that time could be decreased, then it would feel quicker and move off the line quicker.

As Charlotte said, there is a flat spot that is in avoidable.

TMC Box?

I'll give it some thought and give it a go when Ive get some spare cash. Too many mods on my mind, not enough money to do them all at once lol.

tbh i am a long running member of corsa -c since near the beginning and i have seen the bollocks on that site about these things. It will give a more responsive throttle in the effect it is the same as slamming your foot down on it and while this would give the same effect not many people drive this way, except my mrs when she brakes !

so while it will make the car feel faster and probably make you happy my concern is its not worth 200 quid by a long shot!

Just found out something that may prove that the pedal box works. When siting stationary, and revving the car as quickly as you can to 15000 revs there is a very long delay from the time you actually push the pedal till it reaches 15.
Tap the pedal and immediately remove your foot. The rev ometer decides to move AFTER you foot is removed, not during the time it's being pressed.

Heard positive things about them, people just dont like the price which i can appreciate.

Buy another car then... The ECU has this tremendous lag. Always seems to have done with the 1.4 16v regardless of chassis.

Makes for a horrid drive sometimes, but stops it being too jerky on rough surfaces & light throttle (which is the only positive I can think of!)

Some remappers may choose to improve throttle response - but most will claim it whether they take this lag out or not.

If it can get to 15000 rpm then your doing well, can understand why it takes a while to get the though

So there is nothing that can make my foot be in more control? I want the revs to move as soon as I touch the pedal not 3 seconds after.

if the ecu is similar to the 1.8 20V turbo then you can modify throttle responce lag, have a word with AMD Essex?

Well.I would of thought that a generic map would still of sorted this out?
But it doesn't as mine is mapped.
And if people say that it isn't worth it as it is only an op amp in a box, feel free.to make me one and il nice you what it cost.to.build lmao

It wouldn't cost me £200 to make one!

A generic remap will unlikely alter the throttle response time - an op amp in a box cannot

Feel free to make me one :p lol

and I have already tried one of these boxes at gti inters, and I must say I felt it worked and it cut out that delay in throttle response.
It also reduced my handling course.time by almost a second aswell :p

Placebo much?

Seriously, all it does is give you 100% throttle earlier in the pedal stroke. Not 150%, not 'quicker'
