• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
Na never over halfers... Unless by accident i cant afford it also!!!
Did u check out that mpg thread? Also google "defensive driving"
By the way hows the new fuel Andy any pics of your new mods?!?

Hi mate,

no pics as i've not had chance to give the car a decent bath with the weather being crap, but what i have done is fit the honeycomb grill insert behind the original gril as in this thread:

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=165154

i have also fitted the Heko wind deflectors all round.

next up i cant decide wether or not to go chrome with the wing mirror covers to match the chrome grill surround or buy a 2nd hand pair of wing mirror covers off ebay and wrap them in carbon fibre....

need to get the chrome twin tailpipe cover from the SEAT dealer in Chadderton....

Jay,

think your right mate. Why spend £67 - £70 on a bit of chrome trim when you can get a replacement exhaust for nite too much more. Would be better value for money in the long run to be fair......

Car runs a bit better on the super unleaded been using the tesco momentum 99.
Not noticed any improvement mpg wise tho.

Most I've had so far was 53.3mpg on xmas day coming home from my uncles house.
Was on the m56 with very little traffic at 60mph on cruise.

Checked out the new pics mate and its looking good. The boot looks like its de badged with the lettering being black....

Gonna have to arrange a meet for the Manchester lot!

Yea defos iv never done a meet so we mite av to jump on the back of another one!! Unless someone can organize....... Strictlty manchester lol
Yea the cars coming along now but never be happy mite concentrate on getting it mapped for now rather than spending a ball on all styling mod i want. As soon as i do something to it, i want more changing hehe....

If your goin over 50mpg your doin really well come the warmer months you smash it. iv had close to 50 recently but all main roads doin 30, still nowhere near my record though!!!

Strictly Manchester

one thought I've had is to carbon fibre wrap the central bit of the dash - the silver surround of the heater control and the radio.
It will bring the black check effect of the dash down through the centre console to the gear leaver

only an idea at the moment and think it'll look quite funky. It also depend on the quality of the carbon fibre wrap.......

What do you think?

Thank god im happy with my interior!! Yea well the top of the dash is almost carbon effect innit. Trial it get a small bit and offer it see what u think, like u would wall paper lol.

Does anybody know weather there will be w new accessories cataloge for 2012???????
I think the last one came out feb 2011.........

Sorry to hijack the thread, but whats the servicing regime on the 1.4TSi 125bhp engines?

Are these specifically time & distance - e.g. every 10k / 1yr, or can they be longlife servicing? - e.g. every 18k / 2years?

Looking to buy one & want to make sure what to look out for so it keeps the warranty!

Cheers

Its cool bro think this is the spot right now for tsi owners! Mines on longlife by default. It will be on normal 1 yr service when i get it done afta a year.
Also you can keep your warranty even if you dont use your seat dealer. Cheapest way is buy the parts from a good source keep the receipts. Take them to your local garage theyll fit them for a fraction of the price and stamp your book!
Also if u do get one, if you decide on longlife, if you need to top up your oil you need to make sure its designed for longlife service plan.
And thats the end of that chapter.

Zinadeen,

in addition to Jay's post, the Multi Function display (MFD) has a service indicator function that tells you how many miles/days left to next service as well, which is a really handy little function.

So if its either long life or annual servicing, your car has the on board info to when your next service is due

Thanks for the info guys, seen a few that I want to look at but after checking the service history over the phone with the dealers none seem to be upto scratch.

To check all with SEAT I spoke to the customer services team - on all 4 vehicles that I queried about they stated that all should be on T&D distance servicing - I queried the longlife regime but they said this wasn't applicable?

Even some SEAT parts dealers I spoke to confirmed via the chassis these should be on T&D regime only? - are both of you on longlife servicing?

Im on standard annual servicing mate as in time/distance.
Per my mfd my next service is July 2012

your doing the right thing. Always insist on looking at the service history book. If it hasn't got fsh walk away and find another. There are plenty out there to choose from

I have a code in my logbook its either one or the other its defo on longlife. Ive done 7000 ish and i think i have 9000 remaining til i need service. You dont really want it anyway, id rather have it done yearly regardless of mileage (unless mega high) its better for the car.

On way back from work today. Temp was 14 degrees as opposed to 5-9 last month!

Yea not seen that since september probably! Mite get higher tomorrow in work should be quieter on the roads, though i dont hang about on a weekend!

Hate you guys and your high MPGs...I wish I kept my TSi for this reason U_U I barely make 34 on mine sob sob.

Glad you guys are enjoying it though! Still remembered when the car only had 20miles and it was barely run in...and wouldn't go 4k or something along around there haha
