Let us know how you get on when speaking with Seat mate.

I phoned to separate Seat dealers and provided chassis number and both reported that my car is not due for recall on coils.

What car do you have? Mines a 2005 LCR (BAM engine)

I'm booked in for Wednesday. They did confirm there is a recall on the coils BUT i didn't have my chassis number for them to double check mine are on the recall, they said don't worry they will check on the day. In this thread it says if you have any coil packs with part numbers... 06A 905 115 D, 06B 905 115 R, 06C 905 115 L or 06C 905 115 M then you are NOT on the recall list! mine are 06A 905 115A so i should be on the recall list! fingers crossed! :)

I have a 2004 Leon Cupra R (BAM engine) as well. Let me know how you get on mate, as would prefer getting it done for free if I can lol :D

it seams BAM LCRs are not on the recall...

petey085... you got me thinking! So I called my local dealer back and said I wanted to confirm with my chassis number that my car is deffo on the recall list, and so they checked and sods law it is not! :( I am so glad i checked properly as otherwise I would have been carless to at least wednesday, where as now I will get it sorted 2mo! Also SEAT quoted me £35.23 for a new coil pack, code 07k 905 715F.

I looked on euro car parts website (as i remember someone on here saying they do OEM ones as I don't want a cheap copy one!) and they list 3 coils for my car, so I phoned up my local store to ask which one is the OEM one and its this one.. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/S...4ea4498f9de5027676fea953e9e6948eb11c5b&000197 they said its made by the same manufacturer as the OEM one, just in a different box! a bit like the cam belts I guess; Gates make the OEM ones, but the Gates one is a fair bit cheaper than the OEM one because it doesn't come in the OEM box, even though its the same part inside the box! ;)

So if you buy online its £34.20 with free delivery. ALSO they have 25% off at the mo, (code "crazy25") so its really £25.65! =)

Though my local euro car parts have it in stock and said rather than going through the internet they would do it for £26.50, so every cloud has a silver lining; il pop to euro car parts 2mo and my car should be back up to 4 cylinders in no time at all! :D

Just thought I'd mention it, as I dont think the Cupra R is on the list for recall. If anyone finds any different let us know.

it obviously isn't (BAM LCRs) as you tried twice and I tried too! :( though at £25 for an OEM one from Euro Car Parts I'm not crying! :D off to fit it now!

I bought some of the Awesome GTI black and red coilpacks last week, assuming that because I have a late 2005 LCR I wouldn't be on the list for this work. When removing the old coilpacks I checked a couple of them for part number and it looked like they were 06A xxx xxx A which looks like the early ones?!

Other thing I spotted was that the little clip on the plug that connects to the coilpack, on two of them the clip was broken which suggests they've been changed before. Car is getting remapped tomorrow, hence the fresh coilpacks for peace of mind, I might ring Seat and if they say I can bring it in to get checked out, swap the old packs back in.

just phoned "blade seat"...stupid name. and the wooman said the recall is just for certain engines and my car isn't effected, anyone else had any luck with the later cupra r's, might check to see which coil packs are in it. i want freebies! seems to be running alright though

Mines going in Friday afternoon. Gave seat in Coventry a call today and it due for a recall. Mines the auq engine.

just found this and have called Seat garage. apparently my 2001 cupra is on the recall list so its booked in for next week :) thanks OP for pointing this out.

not sure what difference it'll make as the car isnt misfiring. dont even know if it even has the stock coilpacks in the car still.. will Seat kick up a stink about that if they are not? i mean its an 11 year old car for crying out loud. its probably likely that some parts would have been replaced in that timescale
