Anyone had a successful private sale of an Exeo?

I've been trying to get rid of mine. They seem to be about as popular as a turd in a spacesuit.

I've got a 59 plate 143 S in black, fully serviced, 21,000 miles which I've had for a year. It's washed and waxed regularly I keep my cars in good condition. I've changed jobs and am likely to be doing 20,000+ miles a year now so I thought I'd swap the Exeo for something a bit smaller with better MPG (the mpg still bugs me I used to have a mkI Fabia VRS).

The local Seat dealer won't take it in p/x against a used car, only against a new car, on the basis of "I've got a load of them sat over there I don't want more of them". I've been to about 10 car dealers, only 1 is prepared to take it in p/x, and he offered a joke valuation. They all basically said "Sorry I don't want one of those they're impossible to shift". I've advertised it privately and had the square root of bugger all interest. (Before anyone suggests it's the condition of the car, it really is in good condition)

I'm keeping it, I'm getting it remapped tomorrow, that should liven things up a bit.

Not that I've experienced...I px'd my 143 for a tsi at a local dealer who gave me almost a straight swap. They since sold my old 143 within a week and I know they are shifting any exeo they get in. I'm also seeing more and more on the roads round here (although nowhere near the number of A4's, Beemer 320d's, mondeos and vectras thank god). What part of the country are you in?

Sounds familar, although I do agree the est is easlier to shift than the saloon. It's all down to badge snobbery, we have a few here down in the SW that don't seem to want to go unless they are for silly money - great for the s/h buyer but crap for the seller. .........................

I wonder whether the Exeo will become the modern day Mark 2 Toledo? Lovely cars, fantastic bargain to buy, but real bad luck if you're trying to sell one.

most people just dont know what they are, i bet if you put a audi badge on it at the price your selling it there would be pillocs from everywhere banging your door down, honest johns review and the 5th gear long term test review said this is an audi b7 but seat have made it better they even stole the dash out of the cabriolet, passed one on the motorway the other day and couldnt believe it!! picking up my exeo sport tomorow not even 2 years old 27k lovely car and change from £10,000 that car was 23,000 brand new if it was an audi i would be struggling to find one for 16k bit of a no brainer really, the funny thing is most exeos all seem to be selling up north ,i have been struggling to find one down south were i live or the main dealers have hiked the price up,think there,s canny buyers about further north, dont sell it remap and enjoy have driven and owned seat,s for years leons alteas and can honestly say the exeo is the nicest car i have driven from seat the best so far

This! What could you possibly buy for even close to the money that would be better?

I had a good laugh at one of my mates they other day who has just splashed out the thick end of 15k on an Audi A4 2.0TDI which is older than my Exeo. He was bragging about how "fast" it was and how great it was for 15k. Then I pointed to my remapped TSI and and explained how that was an A4 with 265bhp which was newer, with the cab interior for 5 grand less. Oh how he laughed.

Out of curiousness I have been looking to see what I would need to buy that was faster and had the same or more toys on it for about the same age/condition.mileage. The answer seems to be I would have to spend about 30k. So no I wont be selling my Exeo any time soon. I like the market as it is.
