Had car end of May 26. It was pre reg but we got it with 18 miles on clock. Now done 2200 miles. The service interval shown on the infotainment screen is 17700 miles, 482 days for inspection and 16400 miles 482 days for oil change. From the handbook I assume the car is set to "LongLife" service.
I was going to get the car serviced after 1 year or 10000 miles on the road ie May 27, because 20k miles and about 18 months sounds a bit long. I've now had an e-mail from the dealer saying that the car is due for a service!! (After 3 months and 2200 miles!).
Now a complication is that the car was first registered end of September 2025, but never taxed or driven on the road (18 miles on clock) before we bought it as pre reg sale. So maybe the dealer is going on that date (but even so that's only 11 months) and it sounds like they are trying it on a bit, I can't see the car actually needs a service after so short a period of use.
Before I go back to the dealer to query their e-mail, what is people's experience with the longlife service (it says in handbook that the car works out service interval from way its driven ). I haven't had a car with that type of system before.
Should I stick with this setting, or get car serviced annually (or 10K miles?)
Thanks!
