Hi all,
I have xenon's lights, and it seems like the high beam is built into the dip beam with them (had the car 2 days) the place where the dip beam is usually on most, I have a round bulb there, now when you turn the lights to auto, the side lights come on (the little tiny ones) then as it gets dark then the dip beam comes on... thing is, when you turn the lights off completely, you get the little round bulbs on that fit into the dip beam...

with all this, i'm basically wanting to change them so they are more of a white light rather than yellow. I've ordered the LED side lights from a thread I was reading earlier, but I have no idea what to replace these random round bulbs with... i don't even know why they are there? Parking lights maybe?

Anyone advise me who knows about these or has xenons?

Thanks
Jordan

The ones at the far side are day running rights and come on when the headlamps are off. Search for drls led and theres links for them which will help you out.
Your car will have bi xenon headlamps which when you put main beam on it lifts a mask for main beam so you don't have any additional bulbs for main beam.
Then the only other bulb you will have is a little sidelamp bulb which are 501 bulbs and thats it.
Hope this helps you.

Daytime running lights -always on unless you turn off on the mfd.

Sidelights - turn the headlight switch from off or auto to sidelights and the smallest light on each side comes on.

My car doesn't have the daytime running lights on off on the mfd.
I thought you hold the headlamp switch to flash and either left or right indicator on for on or off then turn the key on.

I just leave my lights on auto all the time, so there is no real use for them!

Changing them to LED's would be cool tho!

Leave your lights on auto and they will always be on.

In auto your daytime running lights are on. I find my sidelights aren't used unless I put the switch to sidelights

On mine, the little tiny lights (sidelights i think) come on with auto. When you turn your lights off, the ones above (larger round ones) come on...

So i guess mine and yours are set the opposite way round.

That i guess would be the Coming Home function

Coming home and leaving home uses the xenons

On mine the daytime lights are on when the headlamp switch is off or in auto when it's a sunny day.
If in auto and it's dull the daytime lights go off and the sidelong and headlamps come on.
To be honest in auto I've never seen the sidelights on without the headlamps.

I have noticed that the inside of my lens has bubbles on it too, I wonder if they are getting too hot?

Condensation in the corner of the headlights is quite common (mine comes and goes) but doesn’t effect the lights at all, I shouldn’t worry it will probably disappear when the temp becomes more consistent in the spring.

My car is 08 so pre-facelift and no DRLs.

Auto = xenons and sidelights on if the light falls below a certain level - not sidelights on their own

If I flash the lights and the Xenons are not on there is a separate bulb that flashes, the Xenons stay off. This is so I hear because it is not a good idea to turn the Xenon bulbs on and immediately off again. I think most if not all cars with OE Xenons are the same.

When the Xenons are on and I flash both the normal bulbs and the Xenons flash (little cover lifts up).

Hope that helps.

Hi,
No it's not condensation in the corner, it's marks on the inside of the glass in the line of the xeons :-(
