i MOT my FR today and to my suprise, my emissions were good...really good!
yes, its a standard FR but it was producing 0.000% CO :p

so, i think its fair that the government give me a refund on my tax, as tax free cars produce a damn sight more than that.

i think its a good excuse for a de-cat...

Yeh from what ive read the new regs aren't too bothered about emissions/particulates but more on whether your exhaust is complete! So if your reg brings up dpf on your car and the mot tester doesn't find on I think they would be able to fail it. Same with cats!

New MOT Rules dont mention anything about DPF's

Smoke levels for Diesels 58+ have been lowered though

Is this a defo cos I've been told by an mot bloke I know that if it was fitted with 1 from new it still has to be there .
He sez something about cats on diesels have always been particle filters and before all you had to do was pass the smoke test but now it has t B there and the fancy new type DPF cars are no different .
I gave him a ring in April when they changed the mot as I was about to have mine removed as part of a package .
Duz anybody know if the DPF light still turns on then off when you start ya car if you've had it removed
and coded out .

It's got me a bit scared about shelling out the grand only t fail my mot .

I don't know dude Im handy with the spanners like most but when it comes 2 stuff like this I'm lost .
Maybe I've got what he said wrapped round my bits :0) but he did say that cats on diesels have never been like cats on petrol cars and were more of a filter than something that converts one thing to another .
2 be honest all I want to now is has anybody with a DPF delete passed the new MOT yet (& I mean a proper MOT) so I can get mine booked in to JBS & release them ponies

Yes all of us, i had a smoke problem on mine but injectors where totally knackered

if you want to unleash the ponies dont visit JBS, Visit another company in Mansfield named after a large predator of the sea

the word cat, or catylist actually means something that starts or excellerates a reaction, without itself being consumed.
Therefore if its a filter it isnt a cat.
If its catylising, and so a cat, then it is creating a reaction and a conversion.

Lets just say JBS play around with there RR

MIne was supposed to be 235bhp, had it RR'd on a few RR's and it made 200-205

Jaws then redid mine, with 3 different maps the best one made 228bhp on Jaws RR and it was alot more powerful and i mean alot

Have a look at BIGG Addicted aswell he had exactly the same with his

That's then why you could take um off diesels before but not petrols , because 1s not a cat at all but a filter

I've heard this B4 , did u go back to JBS ?
I know a bloke with a RR so could check it .
The prob I have now is did jaws only go the extra mile to make JBS look a bit cacky.
I might have a ride down to jaws to see if they will map my FR 170 without removing the DPF cos JBS not do it no more , but as my DPF is good and I do a lot of long journeys and I've been told this is what gives mapped DPF cars probs , short journeys I mean
Thanx for you help & bloody hell you have 2 trek 2 ave ya car ti Keres with.

Jaws have been excellent i had several diffferent maps for my PD170 from them, some where for daily use and some where for off road use.

I spent a whole day down there and sat with Mikko when he was doing the mapping and RR Runs

3 of the most powerful PD170 cars they have done where mine (Leon FR) BIGG Addicted (Leon FR) and Kilner's (MK5 GT TDI)

Kilners is the only one surviving now as me and bigg have both moved on

Andy when you mapped yours in Mansfield did it smoke a lot?
I'm not looking really for a max hp I can get. Just want to get rid of dpf and get few more horses but without leaving cloud of smoke on every roundabout in MK.

BTW. I'm the one from email :)

Yeh mine was maxed out

Best thing about "Jaws" is they can map to suite everybody

So for instance mine was mapped for performance, they can map for no smoke, lots of smoke,

They do a Stage 0 DPF Delete that simply gets rid of the DPF, i had that map on my STS it was actually very good
