Diesel Pop Question

I have just been out with my mate who has a Focus ST these are known for popping and it sounds amazing.

Due to certain unfortunate aspects of my life... I have a dirty diesel tractor.

My question therefore is it possible at all to make a diesel pop with any form of exhaust system
I understand it is hot fuel within the exhaust/manifold that is super hot.
So I guess with diesels the fuel won't ignite which means i'll have to man up and wait and get a petrol.

I am thinking next week to get a custom de cat pipe might this do the trick ?

My mg tf would pop like no ones business when I got it de cat'd!

Its a lovely sound but can get on your nerves as a daily driver!

no you cannot get a diesel to pop on the exhaust, this is because they are much more thermally efficient than a petrol car so as such the exhaust system doesnt get anywhere near as hot as a petrol car. When unburnt fuel comes out of the exhaust of a diesel it just comes out as black smoke.

If you run water/meth injection it can pop with a strong mix. Only downside is the engine seemingly pops too.

Not sure I want any engine popping, I do also like the owl/pidgeon noise created by a 'decatted' diesel can't beat that

Sam you have a family of owls in yours haha ! What system do you have if you don't mind me asking sounds great (it is a diesel right lol ?) want something like that on mine

Haha it's loud init. It's a Milltek decat downpipe and a custom made rest.

Just sounds wicked, it's a good loud don't wana spend Miltek money as i don't plan to keep mine past the end of this year, i was thinking just full custom straight through, top noise though Sam i'm liking it bet it scares the saxos

With mapping you can make a pd TDI pop out of exhaust when hitting close to and into revlimiter and when launch control is mapped.

Does it sound cool?
Well, that's a question of personal taste.
I must admit that I do like it somehow.

Not too sure what makes mine do it. Don't know if it's the custom made cat back or the Milltek de-cat downpipe.

Just want to jump in here to tell you it is possible....its called Diesel Hard Fuel Cut, sounds like popcorn in the microwave......
Needs to be mapped in.
Done already on the ibiza tdis.
