HI every one who has doubts about awesome gti clutches .
3 years ago i uprated my mapped 225 bhp audi a3 and fitted a clutch kit and lightened flywheel (an ecs unit) from the guys at awesome and i must say i never looked back.
i used my car on numerous track days etc with out a single glitch the clutches are top quality and the guys at awesome are second to none with a brilliant customer service who i have found hard to beat.
so please dont critisize these guys untill you have used them.
i cant name a couple of companies much bigger than awesome who dont give a damn after they take your money at least awesome care.
ALAS i no longer use the audi but now have a leon cupra and i will be getting a clutch upgrade for that from awesome

Just spoke to my mate who fitted this kit before Christmas, it's the same mate who Chriswaite stated had a Techniclutch sticker on it. Yes it did have a sticker but this doesn't mean the full clutch kit is made from Techniclutch!

Just because the the pressure plate is the same doesn't mean the rest is as the Awesome kit uses a OEM release bearing, friction plate being of a carbon composite (Not kevlar like the techniclutch) and could use a different flywheel.

My mate hasn't had a problem with the kit and I've started saving to get one as it seems a very good price for what you get.

Regards to it being silent he said when first fitted there was a slight rattle which has now gone but people have this problem with most 'silent' kits

And before people say mine hasn't got a sticker on this is properly because awesome have started removing them due to people getting the wrong idea about there kit.

Quick question for those running this clutch... what power levels are you at? I will be looking for a clutch that can handle around 400bhp and the high 300 ft/lbs

would the clutch handle this?

Im running 280bhp and 313lb torque on this clutch. I was told it could handle circa 400lb torque as they have it on a tuned diesel

I'm 280bhp and 330lbft. (roughly, ignore my sig as that was the last official dyno figure but I've turned up the boost since.)

My clutch is rattly when off the clutch pedal and out of gear but it's not a big problem.

Just thought I'd add to this as I was at GTI Inters this weekend doing sprint runs. Was launching the car at 6K revs and the clutch/flywheel was outstanding. Fastest run was 4.8 0-60 and 13.2 quarter mile.
