I fitted Weitech coilovers a few months ago due to my top mount bearings failing and driverside spring snapping. I replaced all the top mounts and bearings at the same time but I still occasionally get the boinging clonking noise of the spring rotating when I turn then wheel, usually only when Im turning to full lock. It sounds like the passenger side. Ive only lowered the suspension about 15-20mm as any lower and I would break something on the crap country roads on the way to work.

Is this normal and if not what should I check?

No intention of hi-jacking your thread but I've just purchased coilovers my fr and I was wondering how the bearing and top mount combine with the coilovers. Is it just a case of putting the new bearing and top mount onto the coilvers and then bolt up?

Apologies for the interruption

Yeah, the new ones (or even the old ones) are just fitted as normal and away you go :)

I had the same problem with my JOM set up. The moving part of the shock was actually loose in the housing which was creating most of the problem. my solution was to buy AP's, new top mounts and bearing and new drop links. problem solved :) Sounds strange but even when the shock was ok when i fitted the JOM's there was a knocking noise on full lock, i changed the droplinks since both were knackered and that fixed the knocking for a while.

Check to see if there are any stones/pebbles stuck between the spring and the shock absorber. I've had to shake them out of my JOMs twice now as I had the same "boing" noise coming from mine when steering.
