Loba 4xx Hybrid turbo

WMI would get you 400bhp for about £600-£800 fitted.

Meth and a Loba hybrid is looking at 450+ ;o)

That's tuning for meth though, should the flow of meth stop for whatever reason and you risk melting something.

Not surprised to be honest. As noted earlier, several head gaskets have failed on 2.0T's now, especially higher powered ones.

Aye, it does seem to be the weak link in an otherwise solid engine. Annoying, but it's not always game over.

Steve's car is running big power and has done 25k very hard miles.

Getting expensive this turbo upgrade when you do that though eh

Should port and polish the head and change the cams and valves while you are in there :D

Out of interest, hypothetically, if you were to go for one of these turbos and you wanted to make the engine suitable to take it and remain safe and reliable too, which engine mods would you lot consider as "necessary" and which mods as "ideal"?

I don't think I'd be doing rods and pistons to run this Loba kit.

If I did rods and pistons I'd be fitting the GTX 3076 probably.

This Loba kit is the next level for me on stock motor, maybe do the head bolts though.

I dont think id like to run 450bhp through the engine, i can see it throwing rods and all sorts, i mean i know its a solid engine but running over 400bhp id think id want uprated internals for security, shame there so expensive.

I agree, seriously believe it is only the head that would need doing.

See I am not convinced that the standard engine will survive this knowing that a K04 has been enough to cause issues on other engines.

WMI is a different deal though - this turbo could be used in addition to WMI ;)
