Where has this screw come from???

About to get in the car to go to work this morning and saw this out the corner of my eye

Any ideas peeps?

Looks like one of the screws from the bonnet scuttle
Panel/ plastic panel at edge of bonnet

Yep, the very coarse thread suggests a plastic panel fixing of some kind.

Was just having a look to see if it came from the scuttle but I couldnt see any fixing points for the scuttle at all.

And... I found another one!! Tucked right in the corner under the wiper joint! Getting worries now, feel like something about to come flying off!

When did you last work on something in the engine bay or wheel-arch ?

It's the sort of thing I do, that - put it somewhere *safe* and forget to refit

I know what your saying coz that's what I normally do

But...

I haven't actually done any work on the car myself yet, only had it a couple of months. However the dealer has done so they've probably left them there

What kind of work have you had done by the dealer? It'll will help narrow done possible locations to look for a missing screw

might be off the car that was next to it when they did some work, I'd pop them in a money bag and back of glove box until you need them/sell car.

It was in for a major service and had the Kenwood media system fitted.

Yeah they've just gone in my cupholder for now

Probably for the rubber strip in the on the front of the arch lining, looks like that type of screw. Is it a T-25 torx screw?

It doesn't look vital anyway. Could be from another car, could be someone was flicking screws about and it ended up on your car

With the incompetent idiot at my local seat that sounds highly likely. Cheers for your help though dude. I'll have a look at the arch liner tomorrow

I'd go with Seat Racer. They are the same bolts which crew the scuttle tut bonnet. With one being on your scuttle and another found neat by, maybe they are working loose. There's about 8-10 of them under bonnet

Ones screwing the shuttle down are silver and smaller heads and there's none missing

Just a wee update for you guys, when my under bonnet
Felt was changed recently, they fitted new screws with
Star heads on them, instead of the torx style hth

Maybe someone's just messin with you . This would be the ultimate head fck. If some one put a random screw on my scuttle i would notice even on a bleary eyed Monday morning! I would tear the car part lookin for missing screw holes just because there was a screw
