Have taken out my media system from my broken R and fitted it in a friends FR but we need a security code - does anyone know where I can find this please?

I didn't think the we're coded I thought they were just coded to the car but I may e wrong.
Any news what's happening mate?

Got wrote off mate. I have a deposit on another Chrono down in Cornwall, exact same spec so finger crossed everything falls in to place.

Took the unit out of my broken car and fitted it to my friends FR and it wants a code - instruction book doesn't help much, other than saying we can get it online...

Perhaps this may help?

if fascia looks as above you don't need a new fascia.

the page i used for coding was this and it also has a rough install guide (some parts aren't relevant as for a vw)

hope this helps a little

So basically if your friend has a RSN310, this should work. All you need to do is follow the instructions and use a VAG-COM cable and VCDS software to code the stereo if you want the navigation instructions to appear on the MFD display, like this:

But if your friend has a pre-facelift Leon with a head unit different than the 310 and the screen older than the MFD, then that's a different story and I don't know how you'd go about accomplishing that.
