Got all the pieces of the puzzle now that I should hopefully need, new facia arrived today from Dave at Sere, obviously got the head unit already, and some trim removal tools now all I need to do is get over the 2bob bits I've had for the last 3 days and get it fitted (probably be Sunday now!).

Was informed by seller that it should accept tomtom6 maps, which I'm assuming means stuff like the tomtom6 navigator jobbies which you can get for about £25 from EBay, but I'll give the Igo nav a go 1st n see how I go with it!!

Dunno whether to get one of the vw reversing cameras to go with it, but at £25 for the kit I question how good they'll be (from same seller as head unit!)

Does the unit look solid/good build quality?

I spoke to the seller today and he said I should call him before I buy as Seat ones need to be modified before buying?

I think I will splash the cash and get the reversing camera when i get round to ordering it, just another little gimic which would be helpful aswell!

What needs to be modded on the unit to work with Seat - did he say???

This was my convo with the guy. That's the same seller you got it form?

Dear carcult01,

Hi, I have a few questions about this product.

I have a Seat Leon cupra (Pre facelift) will I be able to change the logo as a few pics show the unit with the VW logo?

Also Will this connect up to my steering wheel controls for volume, skip track, source etc?

With the bluetooth, will my phonebook link up with the unit and also let me control who I'm calling through the MFD screen on the dash using the stork controls?

Just want to make sure the unit will be fully compatable with the current set up on the car.

Thanks

Brad

Hmm i might just be alright as mine is a face lift isn't it, and iirc the link i posted up was listed for 2006 on models and it looks to be the same unit, just under a different listing!?

maybe its different wiring looms? I cant see what they would have to modify tbh. give them a call tomorrow? I know they are usually good at answering message on ebay. received a reply back in under 5 minutes.

Just had a reply from the seller & in my case atleast the only mods needed are that you need to swap the boot logo (think it tells you how to do that in the user manual), and that you need to remove some plastic at the back of where the stereo fits to get clearance (which i already knew, and i think it might be covered on here in a sticky too), but the sller has kindly offered to tlak me through anything i can't sort out and he'll send me some photo's too of an installation he's doing in a leon on Saturday (with this same unit!)

Nothing major to worry about in the end then!:funk:

Just to add to this, from my email conversations with the seller last night he advised that the only way to change the splash screen logo (I'm assuming this is what'll need changing anyway!) is via the remote you get with the headunit using a certain sequence to unlock some sort of hidden settings menu which allows you to then swap the logo. He has said that he will tell me how to do this in the email there sending me later.

When you get it, could you share the instructions? I still have the VW screen

That was always my intention buddy, after all isn't helping one another with advice and info (where possible) where forums such as this come into there own ;)
