Door edge guards!

Hi all,
My wife has an Ibiza sportrider in grey and when she parks on our drive to the side of our house she is forever whacking the drivers door against the wall when she gets out.
Anyone recommend any 'nice' door edge guards to stop the door being chipped?

If that is the only place she does it I would put a piece of waterproof foam on the wall to stop it.
Door guards are ugly and trap water.
would several layers of clear vinyl do a similar job without the water trapping aspect?
probably wouldnt take so much of a knock but might stop the paint being removed?

halfords sell a 6 metre roll for £4/5 which i describe as a small pipeing that is split, discreet and does the job intended for me.
Loool that's like making your car into a crash barrier! It's okay for trucks and such because they reverse onto loading bays and that but I'd never even think about putting that on a car

I have the same problem - narrow driveway and a house wall. I got some Ripspeed guards from Halfords. Self adhesive they stick on the outside of the door only with a small lip to the rear so should avoid water traps.
They come in black or translucent, they're about 5 or 6 inches long.
Just make sure you clean the car where you're gonna stick them - some meths on a cloth - and warm the guards indoors first so they are quite bendy. Peel and Stick.
They've certainly saved my doors from damage.
