My passenger side windows regulator is bust. Assuming it's the regulator because the motor still makes a noise but sounds like wires mangled in door! Drivers side went about 6 months ago and had that fixed at a garage. However, going to have a go at the passenger side myself. Called seat dealer for price on part - 6L4837461 and it's 103 quid! Is it worthwhile getting one from a scrappers!? Cheers.

A quick search would have found the thread below yours - http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=368614

Cheers. Got a part from gsf but when I got home the instructions say it's for a 3door even though the part was ordered from my registration plate (mine is a 5dr). Hoping the instructions are simply the same for both. Unless the Window regulators are the same for 3dr and 5dr??

Same has happened to mine seat wanted £103 for the regulator kit, but I only need the cable. There is a seller of cables only on Ebay.

What part did you get from GSF and how much could you post the link please ?

Thanks

I phoned up gsf and they ordered the part it. It was 47 quid for a new regulator. All they need is your registration number. The invoice is in car so will have a look tomorrow and post any part number on it.

Anyone know if the 3dr and 5dr have different front regulators?

Cheers for that Martyn, I take it that the regulator comes with the cables ?.

As far as i'm aware the regulators are the same but it'll just be ordered on your number plate as you say so I wouldn't know for sure.

Thanks again for sorting that £47 is certainly much better than Seat's quoted £103 !!

No problem - have the fun of trying to fit it tomorrow! There are instructions which tell you how to remove the old broken one which involves a drill apparently! I've not had the door card off yet but the Window keeps dropping down and the wires sound tangled up when switch operated. Gsf happy to refund me if I the part is not needed but I suspect it will be.

Yea i've already taken my door cards out the inner being a complete nightmare !
It sounds the same problem as mine the cable will be tangled in your motor more than likely the cable on the left which is the shortest one as you look at it. The cables don't really work i've been told if you buy seperately so the whole part will be your only option really !

Good luck with the fix !

The gsf part no. Is 873VG0910 but the instructions do say it's for a 3dr but was ordered for a 5dr. Was 47.94

Wow, what a mission that was. Took me and my dad around 2h30 to repair. Part was the right one though. All like new now. Cable had rusted and snapped as expected. Put loads of grease on new cables to help prevent it happening again!
