I may try this bubble test as in a few days i will have my OE valve, Bailey DV30, Forge 007 and a Forge SS valve
Be an interesting comparison across the range available

I think thats everything for the bottom end now so time to get ordering bits for the head
Not had my stuff turn awesome yet either, dying to get the 80mm TIP on just to see what i can flow within the realms of OE parameters
 
Not for a while yet mate, got a few bits n pieces to sort in its current guise then going to get all the uprated valvetrain bits, SEM, etc ordered but its big £££'s

What do you think about Bills large in let manifold as an alternative to the SEM?
I remember seeing the generic plenum when they were originally building it, only thing is you need a donor largeport inlet for its runners
Im sure if i get an SEM at the same time as my valvetrain from Issam that he'll do me a good price on it anyway

I doubt it would be a million miles off SEM price by the time its been ported to match a ported largeport head and have an adapter welded on to suit the R32 throttle body i have, but its always an option

you would be wrong re price comparison
and they dont leak thru porosity either ;)
 
If your after a SEM you can have mine for a good price, if i can sell it i want a drivers side handed manifold. Probs a IE one.
When i ordered the SEM it was the only good inlet available, obviously since then IE have brought out there reversable one.

Lets be honest, anything cast can have porosity issues but you'd hope most would be caught by quality control before making it through to sellers
I know james's SEM had a pin hole in it that you welded up but i believe this was replaced and i'd say a very rare case
The generic plenum's that tuffty used and you will be offering could also suffer from this unless you are planning on pressure testing each manifold made
I was under the impression your manifold would be in the £450 region
Plus the SEM's known to be the best mani for the 1.8t

3 porous ones I know of..

having been recipient of the 1st UK one, their cast quality has suffered on recent batches.
All sorted out professionally by SEM direct I will add (as opposed their reseller...... who was not particularly interested :rolleyes: )

I know the test results from SEM, I tested the thing :p
flowbenched and power... It works well

I also know how the Xcessive one performs.. and its power gains are comparable. Its also configurable to be both handed where the SEM is only available one handed. If it was'nt working I would'nt use it. Simples ;)

Plenum cast quality on the Xcessives I've had so far have been ok. No porousity, but its easier to cast as its just a plenum vs complete manifold casting process wise.

My target price is from £450 yes, dependant on options on outlets, finish etc....

If you get a good deal on a SEM go for it.. They are superb performing items. If you can get a SEM for £450 inc vat go fo rit, complete bargain...
The QC has let them down however.. a Lot of $$ for something which leaked.. Disappointing it got out of the door.

Well had a chat to graham yesterday and i will be buying his SEM which should be from the batch after the porous issues and ok
On a side note Bill, do you carry the 330mm rotors in stock as my ones are very low now and will need to be replaced but need some tyres first, just incase i need to plan lead time
