Was just thinking of it as safety net and future proofing all in one package
I occasionally watch the rod change guide on youtube and if wasnt stroking the engine i'd be getting close to DIYing it

yer mate, serious rods from what I read.

Could easily put a turbo kit on for 400hp with those bad boys in

Hmm... Maybe one day! Could be good fun that..

If I do rods I will get the Tuscan's.

Yeah mate, I'm just thinking further ahead if I was to BT it one day in the future, they'd already be done and in place.

I don't really worry with the rods now and the power it runs at the mo, I don't think they'll go as I don't launch it hard from a stand still from 5k all the time etc. It's a fairly smooth map too.

There is no need for that! Lol.

Priced up with a Garrett GT3071R - another $800, lol. So many turbo's to choose from! $4399 is a figure I'm getting, lol. That's £2730 in our terms though.. Which is cheaper than buying a new car to get that power.. Ut oh, talking myself into future plans here.. STOP TOM STOP.. :ban:

If I take the plunge I'll be having some in depth convo's with you mate.

TBF there are a few other things that will need to be added to that such as injectors, mapping etc. But gives you and idea... :D

How about the Chinese copy's? They seem to be working well.

Not sure tbh mate. I've seen a couple floating about on facebook but quite recent installs. I'd rather see how they get on for a good while to make any conclusion myself.

mine would crack 500 IMO but bear in mind that is using a HTA Billet wheel and many other mods to support it.

the full name of my turbo is HTA3071r with a tial exhaust housing in .82 A/R and a 3inch intake as our engine bays are tight enough without having to try and cram a 4inch intake system in there too.

Don't know if that's aimed at CTS? CTS are a well known US tuner and parts supplier. Dealt with them before and very professional.

If it wasn't..my bad

No on eBay you can buy a copy of the GT turbos for a few hindered pounds. Niki has mapped a few and they've had good results and are lasting so far. Welly is going to be using one in his budget A3 track car along with Chinese rod lol. I don't know if that's what Sam is using in his relentless set up? But I've heard a few people on here are thinking about giving them a go.

I'll leave them to it, do it properly or don't do it at all IMO.

500+ is silly territory haha... So getting the billet wheel set you back extra over a normal GT3071R wheel? I need to upto speed with BT talk.. I'm off to read your pm you sent with all the parts for yours lol.

I lean on the do it properly fence tbh when thinking about a BT setup.

yer a billet wheel is more than a cast wheel but gives plenty more gains for the £. Faster spool, more power, more torque etc
