It's the same one, Awesome sell them for whanab.

Tom your spec list is awesome, although we've attacked our mods a different way, our end goals seem to be the same. I love this car mate, it's always good to see the best examples of LCR's staying with the owners who spend so much time getting them perfect.

Keep it up :D

The Awesome one seems to be pretty much the same as the one I have. Reasonably priced too. I purchased mine from ebay, through a seller called "whanab_audi_vw_designer_parts". It was priced at $39.99 +$13.23 p&p, which equals roughly 32 pounds posted.

Here's a link to the seller;he doesn't have a link for the item (selling as a set) but you might want to email him for an individual listing.

TBH Tom, the Awesome product looks exactly the same (it might be made by the same manufacturer actually) and is equally priced. Great product, which makes such a difference to the look of the TB :)

Thanks for the info and link mate :)

Seems you're suspicions were correct though if you scroll down to RDS' reply. Same product! That makes it an easy purchase. Going to leave it for now, enjoy xmas with the family and get back on the modifying next year. Probably January, lol. Not long..

Change the oil cooler from a possible to a definite mate, trust me you will need it if you hit the tracks next year.

Top news on getting the car back. Try and take it easy for a little while to bed the clutch in. It takes some raw abuse from me so fingers crossed you should have no issues with yours. Look forward to seeing the 2013 plans come together.

Btw did you adjust the coilovers?

Yeah I think you're right tbh mate. No doubt come July/August I will be dying to get on track while it's warmer to get those same grip levels as the Prept day where it was 33 degrees! [B)] I'll need an oil cooler then for more stints on track.

Cheers bud. I'm going out today in the car so can get more of a feel for it than the short drive yesterday. 2013 should be a good year for us. The TED cars are all pretty far up the road in terms of projects now.

No adjustment on the coilovers. Martin suggested to get it done at AmD as their laser alignment system is better. It needs it tbh as it's had a lot of work done with the box out, so I will be down there again soon to get that taken care of. It will definitely be getting raised a bit.

It's the same one, Awesome sell them for whanab.

Thanks for confirming James' suspicions :) Makes it an easy purchase.. Always had good dealings with Awesome and I plan on getting a few of those bits on my 2013 list from them.

Cheers for the kind words also mate :D When you list it all down and take a look at it, you realize it is far from standard now...

The car is staying with me for sure. I have always regretted selling my 1st one and want to see this one right through as far as I can take it. I enjoy driving it and when that stops one day I'll sit down and have a think about what to do.
I look at your car the same way as I do D.K's, El's, James Parkin's, Gonzo's and a few others on here; going for OEM+ perfection. I have nothing but good things to say about your car as you know mate. Hoping you keep it aswell as it's in the right hands to stay a minter and get even better. Keep plugging on mate. We need to catch up in person in 2013, be it track or show event :D

Yeah I have mate. I'll be going for that one definitely now :)

Haha, only a few scene bits are getting bought for next year. I'm not the one buying new wheels ;)

Replaced the JR filter today with the Pipercross C0187. Not driven it yet so can't comment how it performs but it certainly suits the bay better than the JR.

Also re-fitted my engine cover as it's been off a while, and gave the bay a quick clean as it was grubby and re fitted my front splitter as it tried to pull itself off the car yesterday at my mates when I picked it up. Can't wait to get it raised now, the height is starting to grate on me a bit...

Took a couple of pics of the 42 Draft gear linkage bushes also. They seem to have done the trick for more precise gear changes, let the sloppy one's be gone.. :p

Great updates as usual Tom, loving the clutch and LSD install and looking forward to the writeup. I really like how the pipercross fills the heat shield are there any deals lurking for these as the best price i've seen is around £44 delivered.

Looking good:). Nice list of mods as well.

Cheers :)

Decided not to paint the gearbox then?

Na :)

The setup feels good. Not enough driving yet to fully comment, but felt the diff work a bit earlier even on a town drive where exit speed a corner I know well felt, well better! More grip for sure with this diff than before. Love it.

We got our Pipercross filters for £30 a pop from Awesome GTI on black friday deals day. Give Al at Awesome a shout and see what he can do for you mate. It's a bit bigger than the jetex fr8001 cone.

Hey mate great stuff! Does having the pipercross that close to the heatshield restrict flow?

Hi mate.

I don't think so tbh, took it for a quick drive tonight and it seemed to pick up better than with the JR cone but that has been on the car a while and not washed so won't be as efficient as a nice new pipercross.

More scene mods I see :p

Yeah I'm coping this El geezer ;)
