Hi guys

As some of u will know I've had some issues with my mk2 2007 tfsi FR of late. Having only recently exchanged my mk1 Cupra I was a bit disappointed that in less than three weeks of ownership I was noticing faults...

Anyway faults were...
1) Hissing from brake pedal area which stopped as soon as pressed the brakes
2) startup issues (x3 times were it didn't turn over)
3) sounded like a diesel even when warmed up

Brought it from Seat dealer who after inspection said that both the hissing and rattling noise are normal

Unconvinced I went to an independent VAG specialist called Lion Garage where I was told it shouldn't be hissing at me and that my cam chain tensioners were causing noise and possible slip on startup?!

Rung Seat UK to explain the situation and they agreed something wasn't right. Today I went on Seat UK's advice to a different Seat dealer to have investigation work done (cost £72) but if proved something not right that the other dealer would have to rectify and compensate

So report says...
1) new servo and seals needed
2) tensioners and timing belt need doing
3) brake fluid not changed for years! (They pre inspected it as green! Dealer today said Red!!)

Plus it should have had gearbox oil change too for the DSG along with cambelt!
Told all this as well as sending invoice off to Seat UK who will be asking questions of the original dealer...I called the original dealer explaining all this and they said they will have me in ASAP to sort new servo, cambelt and tensioners as well as brake fluid/dsg oil change :)

Annoyed it came to this but... now that's a result ;)

Good to hear it's all going to be sorted soon :) SEAT dealers sound really good fun lol

Haven't had the pleasure yet...

Clearly your original dealers fall into the "clown" category.

I'm not sure I'd want them working on my car, but perhaps the technicians are better than the admin types... Hopefully their clownery hasn't caused any longer term issues.

Couldn't agree more mate. I will be getting invoices for everything they do that I guarantee. I'm going to speak with Seat UK about whether they can extend my warranty for free as like u said if something else happens....

Hence why I made sure Seat UK were involved. Friend if mine works at VW and he said get Seat UK on it as it shows u were concerned during warranty period in case of issues further on in time...glad I called them now as it would cost circa £1400 for all the work approx !!!
