Bilston.
Hi guys,

Please bare with me on this one..

If i'm accelarating and work my way through the gears when i land 5th and lift the clucth (if i depress and re lift it makes the same noise) it makes something of a squeal/high pitched wirring noise.

The wirring noise persists when accelerating in 5th and when on over run, drop the clutch noise goes away.

Any thoughts?

mk4 tdi fr 2006 done about 58,000, clutch and fly wheel replaced q3 last year.

Thanks
H

alarm bells are ringing here

Sadly i fear the same.

In the last 12 months this cars had a new timing belt and water pump, then the dmf went so that and a clutch kit now i've got a very weird noise in 5th, it doesnt seem to cause any issues.. ie slowness judder slip but i do fear the worst.

Maybe time to chop it in and buy a grown up car.

grow up? Nah. Dont want to do that. I#m knocking 50 and have no plans on growing up. it is over rated IMHO...
