Saw someone on youtube without the middle and rear muffler. To noisy man.. Not a nice sound.

Cant find it right now

I wouldnt have thought so, I got a 3" decat downpipe before I had mine done so removing the silencer hasnt really made too much difference, just sounds better, i thought the decat would give off a good sound but was still quiet

just can't wait to get it done now lol. take it i shouldn't expect any performance gains? i.e. better throttle response?

Hey could you report back to let us know how it sounds? I'd be interested in getting the silencer removed but I'd only want to hear the difference if I was going for it. Does this modification have much effect when driving normally?

I wouldn't really want it to sound any different to stock when driving about town/ under 2000k

This looks like something id like to do, how would it effect the warrantee though as my boc can be slightly unstable at times lol

i phoned up my dealership today to ask about warranty. salesman said that it could potentially void the warranty but only on the exhaust.

either way i'll be keeping the standard silencer just in case, could always whip it back on if the cars going back to the dealership...he said it wouldn't be a problem as long as it was professionally done.

theres a natural break in the exhaust around 12 inches behind the silencer. Theres a sleeve that fits the two parts together. If you cut the pipe before the silencer and undo the sleeve in its natural place, you could source and buy another sleeve for the side you cut so come warrenty work you can unscrew the sleeves and replace the scilencer. Very much doubt they would notice or even suspect the additional sleeve was not oem. Just a thought!

each to their own mate. don't think i've ever heard a corsa sound like that.

Sounds terrible to me. I just can't fathom how people can spend 10 grand on a car and then be happy hacking boxes off the bottom when for a few hundred they could get a decent system!

when i eventually go down the turbo back route this box will be going anyway. its just a temporary way to get the noise i want, before i commit to a full system.

its not going to sound much different to having a turboback on the car. saying that it sounds like 1.4 corsa is nonsense haha, considering that a turbo back system would usually delete this silencer. think there's a certain stigma attached to doing this as its a cheap mod.

well, people are perfectly entitled to do what they want with their own car, no matter how much they paid for it. I used to be quite snobby about exhausts, but at the end of the day its just a metal tube going from high pressure to low, the easier it can do this the better. far better off getting a custom system designed around what you would like than buying an off the shelf one, at double the price.
