I stick to my V6s and V8s if I want a nice sound.

not everyone has that option mate.[/QUOTE]

no but they have the option to purchase an exhaust designed by experts to eliminate drone at cruising speeds and emphasis the "Sporty" frequencies!

That was my original gripe in this thread, the car is worth a fairly hefty chunk of money and to just go slashing bits off seems a bit odd to me when you can afford 10-18k on a car!

i promise you there is no drone. I have been in a polo which has better cabin noise reduction with a full milltek and 100% drones more than removing centre silencer, its at about 75mph with 40% throttle where the drone happens

That said the milltek has a deeper tone constantly.

there is absolutely no drone whatsoever. don't feel your in any position to comment on it if you've never heard this set up in the flesh....and yes you'll probably come back to this saying "oh but i've worked with exhausts and have experience of similarly engined cars blah blah blah..."

as for the slashing bits off it theory, like i've said before if i was getting a full stainless system built up this silencer would have been getting deleted anyway. i'd rather go down my own route rather than be like every other tom **** and harry and settle for the milltek...as good a system as i'm sure it is.

at the end of the day its my car and my money, and i'm happy with the end product :D

now, it's a friday night, and i've had enough of arguing...i'm going for a beer or two. :funk:

lucky you, im in a guard room with a loaded wepon 250miles from home with only this laptop for comfort,

....I also have a loaded wepon ;)

Got mine done today at Simons custom exhausts in East Kilbride! What a diffrence cost me £60!

Thinking of getting this done to my Cupra as im buying a house at the moment and cant warrant the hefty expense of a Miltek yet.

Does anyone know how it sounds on a motorway going about 70 -80mph (3000rpm ish)?

King Harold, I work in and around Malvern. How have you not seen me about lol.

Last questions before I go to my local exhaust place.

1) I take it you guys have declared it on insurance. How much did they roughly charge you?
2) Did it affect oil usage at all?

it had no effect on my insurance, as for oil usage, not at all. it is after all just the resonator that's being removed, there's no change to the actual exhaust construction
