Possibility of Blueflame Exhaust for Cupra/Bocanegra

Always been a fan of Blueflame exhausts, so I decided to have a quick look on their website to see if they did one for the MK5 Cupra.

Sadly, they currently do not offer an off the shelf system, so I decided to e-mail customer services to enquire about the possibility of having a new system built up. Received this reply today:

Hi Adam,
Nice to hear that you liked our exhaust system for your MK4 Ibiza FR 1.8t.

We would have to develop the exhaust system for your Cupra Bocanegra as a bespoke fit using your car and envisage that your car would need to be with us for approx 3 days.

We can offer you 35% discount and free fitting.
Price:
Cat back @ £330
Decat system @ £570

If any members of SCN are interested after it has been developed on your car we can offer it to them for
Cat Back @ £360
Full System Hi Flow Cat @ £782
Decat System @ £614
Plus £25 delivery

I Hope this is of interest to you and looking forward to hearing from you shortly.

Best Regards
Warren Simmons

only thing is i assume the business is located in the south of england, which is a bit of a trek for me really. but i'm seriously contemplating going down. I would love to have my car as the guinea pig :)

scratch that, Warren e-mailed me back with the address. Skelmersdale in Lancashire, not too far to travel down at all.

Do it mate, id like to see what a custom exhaust looks like but retains the origional look as much as possible, not a big fan of the miltek twin pipe set-up. Something more discreet.

exactly... beats the milteck for value but id want to see pics and hear it before i did it, but well done for pursuing it mate!!

yeah, the milltek's a bit of a rip off imo. i'm sure its an excellent system, but just a bit too much for what it is.

cheers! shows what you can get for asking a few questions.

well i think i'll be going down in early may or early june, once i've paid off my insurance and tax.

once i have it done i will of course be posting videos etc. just don't know whether to go for a decat or not.

i actually quite like the milltek twin pipes haha, but i'll see about tail designs when i get down. i'd love it if they could simply make a trapezoidal tail pipe to fit into the surround.

Id like just a decent alternative to miltek for a decat pipe, the price for the is insane for what it is. As would be tempted to have one of those.

This is more like it!!! Look at the saving over the overpriced system milltek have produced

yeah milltek have had a monopoly for a while, so can basically charge what they want. to be honest it amazes me that other companies haven't brought out designs for the MK5 cupra.

after checking when i'm not offshore, seems like i'll be going down early may and will be going for a full system with decat.

id like a full system with sportscat including downpipe etc.

how would a decat affect the mot? would it auto fail?

100 Cell CAT is about as low as id want to try for MOT purposes, 200 Cell (which is what most companies use) should pass pretty easily.

Diesels have smoke test, so no CAT is not a problem.

what size downpipe? I advise 2.5" if your going decat. My 3" is good for my future hybrid but in my opinion has allowed oil to be forced passed my turbo seals. Stock turbo designed for use with a cat
