Valeo clutch and SMF noise

Evening all,

As you may see i don't post much at all.

After you thoughts. Just had a new valeo clutch and single mass fly fitted. I took it out for a spin and when coming on boost there is a rattling/raspy noise coming from the passenger side. I'm just assuming its because of the SMF that its doing this.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I have the same set up, Been fitted a month now.

Only get a very slight noise on tick over, No noise any other time.

more than likely SMF, they are known to be chattery. push clutch pedal down and see if noise goes away

Shouldn't be making a rattling noise whilst the gear is engaged and driving, mine only chatters on tickover but as said once clutch is pressed it stops

Same as, Mine stops when the clutch is dipped.

I have just fitted a solid flywheel conversion to my fr tdi and there is definitely a bit more vibration.It only really occurs below 2000 revs, after that you don't notice it.

Thanks for the replies. Upto now it sounds fine in tick over, just as gtjedi said it seems to be around the 2k mark. I will have a proper play tomorrow and speak to the garage just to let then know just encsse something happens... just to cover my butt...

from what I understand its just because the flywheel doesnt have the same give as a dual mass does due to it being made up of different parts and housing springs so a little more vibration will be apparent with a solid lump of metal.
