Sounds the same I got it from eBay, the bigger hose is ash (19mm) as its stamped on it but the 8mm one is just plain blue silicone mate.

Ah I bought mine direct from ASH. Do you mean 19mm inner or outer diameter? I bought 8mm (inner) but was going to buy some 13mm too.

Yeah bought I the internal diameter one, the 19mm was when I did the pcv removal then the rest was for bits like the expansion tank and charcoal canister . It all seems to be ok so can't complain and it was cheap.

The quality of the hose is good and yeah it wasn't too pricey so no major complaints!

More work done on the car and again something didn't go to plan but this is down to the quality of the product :(

Sadly on trying to layer on the rear light tint to my LED's, it would not stop creasing and bubbling and when I checked out the 2nd tint sheet up to the light, I could already see nasty creases in it which would only show up worse on a curved light. I heated it up plenty with the hairdryer but it just would not go on to a standard I would be happy with. It surprised me that even when very hot it still wouldn't allow enough play to go around the curved shape of the rear light enough.

Sooo I got fed up of that last night and ordered some Lamin X instead! :) Will contact the seller of the ebay one and see if they'll sort me a refund and also be sending mine back to see what they make of it..

Anyway, today was much better and the jobs I wanted to do went to plan.

After my charcoal canister nozzle decided to shear itself off under little pressure yesterday, I set about fixing this massive leak first thing this morning using the spare canister Dan (murdered LCR) dropped off yesterday. It turns out the two 'lids' on the top of the charcoal canister do both pop right off which we weren't sure about yesterday. I decided to use the bigger 'lid' off the canister from Dan's and fit this to my existing one. Saving me the hassle of removing my unit.

Original lid, you can see the spout which has sheared off this clearly. The remains were in the vac pipe stuck  Sooo I was going to have to replace the whole vac pipe regardless. Took the lid off Dan's old one, fitted this to mine and got the silicone hosing back out...

Re fitted the engine cover (it needs a proper clean though) without the blue Forge sticker and I think the bay looks MUCH better for it :D And in general for all the recent tweaks. Very happy with it. Just not the dirt. I'll be sorting this at the weekend though before the AmD rr day meet.

Before anyone mentions it, the driveway is getting re done in a couple of weeks. It resembles a road in Africa at the mo

Also treated the R32 leathers to some Gliptone shampoo & conditioner treatment today. They're still drying now but already look much better. I want to do it again on Saturday if there's time to as I'll have a few things to do before AmD.

All in all not bad progress made over the bank holiday. Once AmD is out the way I'll be looking at the full service I want done with a few other bits I have my eye on. Really getting there now :D

Looks nice, good fix on the canister too.

See the bit on the engine cover, the cut-out bit where your DV vac feed and that other hose off the top of the throttle body go - careful with that, I replaced the hose and the hardpipe from the TB right up to the bit at the bulkhead with a single piece of the vac hose stuff and the engine cover rubbed right through it.

I ended up changing it for a length of 3-ply reinforced hose and got some of that rubbery edge-protector stuff you use on the edges of sheet metal to stop it cutting into the hose again. It's not terribly pretty but neither of the rest of my engine bay is and it keeps it from cutting more hose. Just saw your photos there and thought I should mention it.

Cheers mate :)

On the pipe off the mani I hear you. I've seen in your pics what you mean also. Luckily I've left the hard piping in. I've only replaced it near the manifold you to the metal sleeve connector and checked nothing is rubbing as best as possible. Seems fine, but I did contemplate replacing the lot up to the bulk head then changed my mind lol.

Hmm.. I think it's poor quality but if you say it'll work then I'll happily let you prove me wrong. My hands are rougher than yours babyface :p

I couldn't work out how to get the metal clip off that hose where it joins the hardpipe so I just binned the lot :) Difficult to tell from your pics but looks like your vac feed to the DV may be resting on the side of the gap in the engine cover? Definitely don't want that one getting cut open dude.

Glad we have sorted this over text, lol. Will keep you posted and sort it later this week.

That pressed metal clip comes off easy mate, hack saw it open and then use wire cutters to yank it off :)

The vac pipe isn't resting on the side but it does look close from the pic I know :) The black vac piping I had running off the 008 before was very thin and cheap and I'm surprised this hadn't split anywhere just from being poor lol. The red one you see coming off the DV now is Forge and feels of a much better stronger quality so should be fine but I'll keep my eye on it. If it moves against anything which could cut it open I'll sort it out.

Nice work mate, cant beat a bit more red under the bonnet ;)

Thanks mate, your thread gave me ideas a few weeks ago, cheers! :p

Still going AmD on Sunday mate? Looking forward to catching up with you and the car.

Hey mate,Impressed with your work, shame about the lights Ive been waiting to see what they were gonna look like.

Thanks mate :)

Don't worry the lights will be sorted by the end of the week, am on the case! I think they're going to look good though from what I saw last night when I attempted the tint I have now :)

Yeah ill be going mate but not in the R sadly :(

Cool mate. I'm not sure if I'm going to stick mine on either really. Got loads to spend out on in the next two months so could do with putting the money towards that. There's also loads of people going and mine's been on plenty of times before so would be better to give up a space to someone who's not put theirs on before I think :)
