Thanks, think I need to take them off and re-fit again D-OH!! As I am still having the same problem........They are shaped to fit so that the bent leg clears the pivot nut of the handbrake mech.
The ends of each leg are also a different shape, as are the holes on the caliper itself.
Technically it wouldn't make a big difference if they were fitted on the wrong side etc as the spring would still be trying to open out in the same way - however, the difference in the leg ends may cause it to sit at a funny angle and may affect operation.
The springs by themselves won't cure a sticking caliper, but they do help with returning the handbrake. Have you cleaned out your calipers and checked how the handbrake levers sit when compared side to side? Sounds like you need a bit more work than just the springs I'm afraid.
Sorry but what place is tps. I usually use gsf but lately they haven't had a few things I've asked for like throttle body gasket and hockey puck and have seemed a bit reluctant to order it in and have told me to go to vw or seat.
Although this may be the case for some, i had a kind colleague fit my springs on Sunday & viola! No more noise.
My rear brakes were sticking and I bought the springs in hope it was just a sticking handbrake... unfortunately it was not the case...
I replaced discs and pads as it had been sticking for a while - it turned out to be the 'sliders' that sit in the carriers - apparently this is quite common. Take them out, clean them up, clean up the housing for them and make sure you grease them up before replacing.

First two pics on that guide, the rubber boot to the left of the two spanners covers the pin... I got a pair of needle nose pliers inbetween the rubber and the head of the pin and pushed towards the centre of the car to pop the pins out.

I have this exact same 'mooing' noise when reversing so going to give these springs a try. there seems to be two different part numbers referenced in this thread:

They are supposedly the same - the 1K part number is supposed to be for Seat and I can confirm the 7H part numbers are for VW as thats where I got mine.
Right, got round today to try fitting these but I'm not sure I've got the right parts. The ones in the thread here show a straight edge as it comes off the coil but my ones have a kink in them. I bought them my local VW dealer but accidently gave them the Seat part numbers (1K0615295/1K0615296) so maybe its not the correct part:

They should fit still give them a try, most vw rear calliper helper springs are very similar, I've just had to replace my 1 rear calliper because the springs didn't cure it fully...
