removing dump valve from tdi

hi guys.

ive had my mk1 seat leon tdi 150 cupra for over a year now and when i bought it, it already had a forge dump valve attached to it, i had the car remapped a few month ago but now ive finally had enough of hearing the dump valve so ive decided its time to remove it.


just wondering if theres anything i need to be aware of when removing it as i was planning on taking it off myself

ive just went to the tps to order a brand new intercoolerpipe for £54 so it should arrive in the next few days although if anyones got a spare one for sale then let me know

Call me stupid(joking) but i am sure a tdi hasnt got a dump valve as it relies on a variable vain set up to sort the boost pressure
 
hi alien yea i know it hasnt . but it was already on the car when i bought it and ive just never got round to removing it until now. its doing my head right in listening to it all the time lol
 
Does it definitely have a Forge Dump Valve on it? I have got the PD150 and have had it remapped and found the turbo loud before I had the remap, but its even louder since the remap, when i back off the boost, it does sound similar to a Dump Valve, but no where near as loud.

The PD150 is the loudest turbo I have ever come across on a diesel, used to have the PD110 and it is alot louder than that.
 
hi smurfy yea it deffo has the forge dump valve on it, i took a pic earlier to put online but i cant post it on here as im a new member, and whoever installed it has butchered the intercooler pipe
 
Cant really see everything because of the engine cover, but would say you should just be able to replace the pipe that goes from the intercooler to the EGR valve.

smurfy - hopefully its not too much of a mess on, but i was a bit suprised at £54 for a new pipe, i didnt think it would be that dear


alien - yea thats what i was thinking too, so hopefully itll be much better once its removed
 
yea it is connected upto the battery. well hopefully once ive took it off il put it on ebay for a couple of quid and hopefully some boyracer may want it.

i cant believe someone would pay £250 for it, absolute crackers.

They plumb in much the same as petrol ones
Although it does nothing on a derv!

There will be a vacuum take off on it! So either plug it or take it back to source and plug
 
just take a look at the instuctions i added. If its been installed correctly, it will have a new solenoid added. This will be controlled by a black box powered from the battery and also connected to a feed from the ecu.

dv's on a diesel is plain wrong :confused:

Strange way of doing it!

Works fine how my pic posted shows, no solenoid or battery feed req... Im bamboozled at that
 
its so it dumps air at the correct time, as you cant just dump air on a vnt turbo willy nilly. You could argue you might cause damage overwise (to the turbo).

Mine dumped air at the correct time how it was plumbed in, the lad who had the car spent 12k on it so it was done properly
