I was shopping for a Leon DSG, but couldn't find one in stock. So I started looking at alternatives and almost purchased a Volvo V40 D2 SE until I realized my short commute would clog the DPF all the time. After browsing the market, I came around to the idea of ordering a new Leon with Tech Pack, but missed the 30th June deadline yesterday. I was bummed! :(

I just got a call from a dealer which confirmed it's now free!

And the APR dropped to 4.9% on finance which is very competitive. Lucky me! :)

Here's what I'm ordering this week:

Seat Leon 1.2 TSI SE 5dr DSG
- Technology Pack
- Apollo Blue
- Convenience Package
- Front and rear parking sensors
- 17" dynamic alloy wheels
- Space saver wheel
- Dark tinted rear windows

I'm hoping the local dealer will come close to the car brokers online as they offer a better trade-in value and the delivery is free.

Sounds a good deal, on the Seat website the free tech pack only appear to be on the SC?

No I think it applies to the 5-door as well, but confusingly this page still also lists the old £500 deal.

In fact, the page tells you you can get the tech pack worth £1,915 for free and then sends you for more details to another page telling you that it will cost £500 (until 30th September)!

Are you sure its free as in free for everyone who buys a Leon
More than likely they gave it to you for free to secure the sale, better to pay for you tec pack out of their profit, than loose the sale of a car to you and have no profit

Epicly good deal! Getting more and more tempted to order one...

SC FR 1.4 TSI in White with the 18" alloys would be the spec I go for

A dealer told me a couple of weeks ago that he expected the Tech pack deal to continue for the next quarter, but this is even better.

He also said that he heard Seat might change the free colour to Red, and ask people to pay for the white as it was proving so popular, but that doesn't look the case.

Does seem to be true as I had a play with the configurator earlier and White was showing up as £175 with Red a free choice, so the reverse of before.

Have seen similar before recently with the VW Up where VW made White chargeable.

To my eyes both suit the shape of the new Leon well. I suspect it might be something to do with SEAT wanting to ensure the market isn't flooded with only one colour Leon.

I'd be happy enough with Red I think. Use the money saved from Metallic for 18in Alloys (£350) and Convenience Pack (£100). Makes for a seriously well equipped and good looking car!!

Funny that. The cost of the car is still the same on new-car-discount ;) I take every offer from dealers with a pinch of salt they still have the same ability to drop it to a sensible margin.

Still - that finance deal is excellent now

Yep, makes it more difficult to beat it by arranging your own so only cash buyers are likely to ditch it now.

That wouldn't qualify for the £1000 cashback though would it?

You still get the £1,000 contribution according to the finance info on DTD, so if you can put up 50% deposit you get 0% interest on the remaining balance, cracking deal IMO.

You could even borrow the 50% deposit elsewhere if needed and would probably still save you money, although admittedly loads of admin sorting it all out.
