Looking good mate, all the small subtle mods do make huge differences to any car. I never liked the mk4 to start with but has grown on me a lot and yours is looking great

Cheers pal :) i prefer small mods and things that keep it looking OEM to an extent. Id rather people think im in a little 1.2 than when you see these 'kids' in there fiestas/corsa's with bean can exhausts pretending there rocking a 5 litre V8 with flared arches and zero ground clearance. haha. Just had a little read of your build thread :) slow but steady progress i see! Keep it up and that's gunna end up a nippy motor!

Cheers pal :) yeah spacers are a must, after going to inters and seeing a majority of the ibizas there with a nice stance id left me feeling like it needs to be done! Is yours mapped? and i presume its a 20vt? If so it helps you really hear the turbo spool and when you boot it from around 3k revs it sounds phenomenal. Yet still sounds relatively normal when driving at normal 30/40mph town speeds!

Yeah mines a stage 1 revo 20vt. Going stage 2 by the winter tho hopefully. I've just ordered a non res cat back for now but as soon as I have the funds I'll be ordering the downpipe. I'm torn between race cat or decat tho. But the hassle of possibly getting pulled by vosa and swapping it every mot is pushing me more towards race cat.

Yeah i like oem too, my engine bay is a bit in your face with the turbo up top but ive just got a standard front bumper to get the oem look back again. Ha yeah, i cant say much right now, my daily beater until the beeza is back is a 1.4 civic with big exhaust etc, really is a bucket but hey ho. What else you got planned? More power? You will notice a difference when you get spacers, that extra little bit of width makes a huge difference. Keep it up

Thats the reason i went sports cat/downpipe. the hassle of changing it every mot put me off, plus i think if id gone de cat i wouldn't have liked the sound as much? Maybe would of been too loud! Ive got some video links in this thread after the pics that give an idea of the sound if you hadn't seen them, there not amazing quality but they give an idea. Sounds good man, i do love the colour of yours though after having a loosh at some of your readers ride it really shines up good.

haha ohhh dear but i suppose its probably a cheap to run daily driver! to be fair, next is spacers which is a must. Got usual maintenance bits that need doing, found an oil leak which apparently is coming from rocker gasket cover. Power-wise if money allows id like an fmic but the cost of the pipework puts me off. You got many plans for yours?

quick little update,

Well a long long time ago around 3 months after buying my car i had a load of work done on warranty, cambelt and other various bits etc. I've always known they did a poor job due to the fact they managed to break the dipstick guide thing (gaffer taped back together), broke the mount around the N80 valve (insulating taped back together) the placing of certain pipes in the bay and various odds and sods which i cba to list. I thought that was the end of it, however i noticed an oil leak from beneath the car the other week and as such i took it to the local vag specialist. Upon looking he suggested maybe the rocker cover gasket was leaking (apologies if i've got that wrong), so i said yeah thats fine swap it out. When he came to swapping it he actually found that its never been there... the seat dealership never put it back in the car hahaha epic. SO on the positive its been fixed now but at a cost :/

Also had front top mounts replaced, had the milltek re-positioned slightly as twas knocking due to car being lowered and had the N80 valve replaced as it wasn't functioning on an output test through vagcom.

gave the car a wash and was happy with the beading effect from the previous wash it had so grabbed a picature!

Erm ive had cheaper to be honest. Not as good on fuel as id thought but i do need to put the cat and backbox back on, hate the sound of it haha. Yeah its always the "maintenance" thats the hardest part, never feels like you are getting satisfaction doing it haha.
Em basically my plans for no is to get it back on the road then after the baby is born looking for some more power, lsd, new wheels and suspension. Also got a full colour change in the pipeline too.

Pics look good from the car show, some very fine looking motors there!,

Not good about the rocker cover:( was that the main dealer in Lincoln?
If you're thinking FMIC have you thought about the Wellycooler? You can buy all the pipe work and the core for around £200.

Casual update....

Finally got me some 15mm spacers for the rear, undecided on size for the fronts.

Also picked up porsche coolant and oil caps for a decent price. Other than that just the standard MOT and service and thats all its had done to it!
