Setting off on holiday next week, just thought I would do an adaptation of DSG gearbox, all done and going through final stage of the road test pattern - sharp braking followed by full throttle acceleration - 5 secs of full throttle, weird hissing noise then MASSIVE amounts of white smoke out the back....... Engine shut of damn quick. Pulled over. Checked dipstick - almost full. Restarted engine for 20 seconds tickover - stopped, dipstick halfway down.
I am assuming this is a blown turbo with oil seal failure leaking directly into exhaust?
If it leaked into inlet piping then wouldn't engine race with the extra "fuel"?
Anyway, looking for new turbo. 2.0 BKD 2005 engine, - any suggestions? Best I can get is about £300 reconditioned/remanufactured.
Any tips on replacement? |Getting new oil feed pipe. New return pipe as well? This is a much shorter thicker pipe so presumably can check if any blockage very easily?
