So I stuck my Leon on Auto Trader, Pistonheads and eBay Classifieds 13 days ago and I haven't had a single call. As far as I can see, the advertised price is good and compares well against others for sale but alas no interest.

It's had 720 views in 13 days on Auto Trader which I would say was pretty good going??

2011 Face lift Leon FR
Speed Blue
30,000 miles
1 Previous owner
Full service history and it'll have another before it goes
No MOT required, 6 months tax
SEAT warranty until March 14

Its been at £10,950 and I have today dropped it to £10,695.

Any ideas?!

The price seems very fair. One problem is that most people wanting to spend £11k on a car also have a car to part ex as well. Have you tried one of car buying websites, you might be surprised.

I'm in the same situation,

I Don't wanna part ex with a dealer, but then there ain't a lot of folk out there with cash or the ability to get credit, iv had a couple enquires in the last week since since I put it on ebay and reduced the price so its the cheapest available (age/mileage) £8k for 09' Fr tdi with 38kmiles = bargain

A couple more weeks of saving and ill just sell to webuyanycar or similar

The buying websites are all crap. You'd be lucky if they offered you 7k!
Remember, it could only take one person/phone call. When I went through the stage of wanting to sell my FR, 2009 pre fl - 24k it was on for (I think) 10. I only had one person come to see the car but the first person that actually came to see it wanted to buy.
i'd just hold off, speedblue is such a rare colour You'll have someone come to see it :)

I think its a specialist market when it comes to hot hatches, I say the colour makes a massive difference as well. I think if it was white it would have gone by now.

your asking price needs to be knocking arround the trade value as otherwise there's no incentive to buy over the others for sale

problem is most people spending £11k will want finance from a dealer and to be able to PX so market is fairly limited

Thanks for your opinions. Its going to make way for an Elise, of which there aren't many around so I'd like to be able to go with a private purchase.

May have to sell the missus' TT instead :sly:

Your Autotrader advert isn't well written. If all your others are the same, that'll be half the issue

You've immediately highlighted a 'problem' by talking about the power - don't forget, joe public still remembers TopGear saying that SAAB's are dangerous with >200bhp

Don't talk about the tow bar, that's too many words taken up with noise.
Don't talk about the brand of the new tyres (or even that they've been fitted) - that's something you can talk to the potential buyer about anyway

Use the return key.

New mats & gearknobs scream 'Ripspeed' - remove that from the advert

Pictures on there are good though.

Valid points that I take on board and do agree. I've now amended it. Thanks.

With regards to the return key though, Auto Trader makes it all one big paragraph and there doesn't seem to be a way around it.

Even if you paste it in from a formatted document?
