Is the LCR a futue classic?

I love my LCR and want to keep it forever!

Do you think they have the potential to become a classic or fade away like some other old hot hatches?

I think there's a good chance, but it's a case of wait and see. I don't think you can dismiss any car becoming a classic, who at the time would have thought the old Mini would become a classic?

I love mine, but I don't think it's quirky enough to become a classic. It's a very clinical, well built, solid motor with a good engine. There's not a great deal of character about any part of it though.

It's a no for me.

its a hard one, im not sure it will be a future classic due to same reasons as mikey. but that said it is by far the best of the bunch (mk4 platfrom) in my eyes. i just have a thought cars like the ep3 civic type r and renault sports will see the germans off

Mini was unlike anything else though... leons are just another hatchback. Love mine to bits but can't see it ever being valued as a classic.

In standard unmolested form in 20 years perhaps but who keeps a car standard for that long, for me a car screams out for branding, putting your mark on it, it's where I get my kicks, improving looks performance and creating something special, on those grounds it'll never be worth much to the masses just a select few, to compare the fable leon to the iconic mk2 golf or mk1, or the mini is just silly, these cars were pioneers of car design, the golf was not so much the car but it arrived at a perfect time in motoring here in the uk it was embraced as the best hatch of it's time and that made it an icon.... I always thought the carrado would be the same but so far it's not that desirable and making much money...

I totally agree with you, I love my LCR it is a great car but I don't believe it will be a future classic and I have never owned a standard car always changed things to make it more my own rather than just another generic car like everyone else's

Agreed. It's a brilliant motor, but not quite different enough, much like the Corrado. I'd also venture as far as to say the Fiat Uno Turbo IE (sorry, I expect to get flamed for that!), which again was excellent but not as beloved as the R5 GTT.

no I don't think so but there quite underestimating I think, power wise, a few ppl I gone against have been surprised in the power of the car even though it looks like a 'normal car'
for what you want out the car in a whole it spot on ,could be a tiny bit lighter but spot on

I must admit im one of them to keep a car looking OE form and all that is ok but then my head was getting turned into changing a few bits ect like the strut brace,and something even as simple as that can help big time as I found out once I fitted one.

..................fiat uno turbo my little Renault 5 would of blown them outta the water, the interior in the uno is shocking ive never thought anything of the corrado tbh I think its a car that tried to be something that never was, even the v6 models imo.
the 205 gti even in OE form handled well blown out of the water,of the 5 I use to have my was oe.....new car though have moved way ahead,id compare it as the seat Ibiza mk2 cupra.i went in my bros and thought no chance std form my 5 would keep up

well that's just me I had 4,Renault 5 gt turbos,the last one I went to Germany in, my other friend had a vag engine in the 5 300 bhp quick it was RS turbos hold there money well and the serria cosworth can fetch silly money,thats still nothing compared to the deltas

Any 80's/90's turbo car that have lasted with out blowing up or being car jacked will be worth a few £. Wouldn't want to have a crash in one though.

that was awful overlooking it was 0.01 of a second slower than a civic type-r and nearly a second quicker than the golf, quite annoyed actually, must get of my soapbox!
