tdi custom exhaust size

I'm looking to get a custom longlife exhaust (straight through decat+no backbox) on my leon just wanted to see what people's opinions are on the pipe size? im debating wether to go for a 3" or 2.5" is there gonna be much difference??

Don't go 3" unless you plan to go 300hp lol, I'd say 2.5" would suit better, are you going just for a stage1 or bigger turbo etc? If just stage1 I'd say 2.25....

Well I possibly will go for the darkside bt kit but not yet. The full exhaust is only costing 120 quid for a decat and no backbox so I'm happy to get another made up later

as said 3" is no good unless you have lots of bhp, infact you'll most likely see a drop due to massive loss of backpressure.

im not sure of standard size but 2.5" will be more than enough

2.5" as the miltek is that size pipe, if you have a pd 150 engine then the exhaust is 2.25" standard so if it was me i would go to 2.5". also thats a good price, long life near me asked for £200 for the same job :s

haha yeah that's what im planning thanks for the help guys, its longlife as well. Will the cut out the rear bumper then?? the Pre facelift doesn't have a cut out

yes they will i had a back box on my old tdi golf and they did cut the bumper , wasnt a bad job too. only inch or two came off

some of you are missing the point there wont be no back pressure as there will be no boxes not only that a turbo dont require back pressure so realistically the bigger the better especially if your going to chase numbers further down the line.
