Well I have had my Leon for about 6 weeks now. Been well looked after and a very proud owner. You know what i mean when people always park miles away in supermarket carparks or you double parked (left enough space) in bays ;)
So yesterday I parked up at work and in the sunlight I had noticed a dent on the rear passenger door!! Gutted!! :(
Its not a major dent there is no scratch or paintwork damage but I can notice it and every time I look there it is :(
I have always look after my cars, wash it every week and I did give it a good treatment at the weekend and in all the time I have owned cars I have never had a door/trolly dent because of these careful reasons.
Anyway I turned into 'inspector cluso' and had remembered I picked up my daughter from school on Monday and did remember parking up in the street as normal 'miles away' between two cars but making sure there was not enough space either side for another car but on my return to my car I had noticed a car driving off between one of these spaces (which i have to say was probably the widest between the either side) I knew it was a tight squeeze so remembered the car and the reg just incase as it drove off (I know I should of checked there and then but didnt as was in a hurry).
So anyway as i have no proof it was this car i am a little stuck and funny enough on taking my daughter to school this morning I noticed the car again but parked somewhere else, I was going to say something to the owner but thought there was no point as again I couldnt prove it and would of sounded a right div!

Sorry for the rant and long thread but I just wanted to vent my frustration.

Now im left with a small dent which is pretty noticable on my immaculate Leon :(

Do i just live with it or are there any tips on a dent removal? Can you do it yourself with special tools or would it just make it worse if i tried? How much would it cost to do professionally?

Cheers

Hi Toca

I feel your pain mate, drives me nuts, just like you I park miles away from everyone if I possibly can, so far on my Leon I have escaped problems. A good paintless dent guy should be able to get it out from a door panel and leave no trace for around £50 other panels are slightly more tricky.

We had a nasty one on my g/f black Ibiza from the gym car park and its now completely gone. Not sure where you are based but if your in West Sussex by chance drop me a PM and I will give you guys name that did the Ibiza and my Toyota.

Annoying in know I was mad but hopefully easily put right.

if there was nobody in the suspect car, i'd have left a note on the windscreen saying 'really sorry for the damage' then sat and watched them trying to find where their car was damaged..............

Where are you from?? I have a guy who comes round my house and this is his job. I can normally get them done for around £30/£40 and he is brilliant. He got a dent out of a MK2 the other day right on the crease and you could not tell it even existed.

Thanks for the offers guys but unfortuately I am up in the North East of England. At least i know its doable.

Thats a good one mate, I might try that and watch to see what they do. I will see if this car still parks away from me on the school runs or watch them sqeeze into more tigh spots and watch what they do. The school runs are always hectic and the way some people park up on double yellows/zig zags on junctions, paths/kerbs outside residents houses etc is crazy. but thats another story. Me, I park miles away and sensibly for this reason and still get dinged.

i used to live just along the road from a school, and i did my nut every day after taking the mrs to her work, by the time i got back, i couldn't park in front of my house!

let kids make their own way to school, natural selection will sort out the weak ones..............

Were in north east? Im in teesside i use just dents - darren is spot on, he got a dent out my wheel arch that was right on the crease line

I've actually been stood next to my car as someone has parked in the tiny space next to me, followed by their passenger (an obese woman) opening her door straight into mine. I told her in no uncertain terms to watch what she was doing, to which she closed her door and replied "ah there's no damage lad" then walked off (cue some expletives and abuse).
