so i've been on the forum for a while but not started up a RR yet. The time has come!

I got my 130tdi completely standard peppered with stone chips, but it was a good buy and its much much better than the mk2 clio i had as my first car.

At first i was thinking sort of a star wars theme of red and black (darth vader style) so on went the stickers

then i felt the presence of the dark side... so obviously the red started

in the meantime i ordered up a new head unit, while that was out i took to spraying the the console surround red to match the gaiter and added a bit of carbon fibre to the facia. Later i also wrapped the ash tray

next i got a honeycombe grill off ebay and took the cans to that too.

later i wrapped the S

Just read through your RR, very nice indeed. How did you do your first seat badge? Plastidipped mine Matt black but was thinking of a yellow background

Thanks mate!

If its the honeycombe style the S actually pops out, then i just masked off the edging bit and sprayed it red :) hope that helps a bit!

prep wise i didnt do anything but really you wanna prime it with some plastic primer then i just used poundlands matte black spray paint then its same principle as plastidip build up thin layers slowly until you get a solid finish :) for the red i used Plastikote, not to be mistaken for Plastidip... i found out the hard way haha :p

What's the difference between plastidip and plastikote? Sorry for the noob question. Did you prime the background before spraying red? Is it best to push the 'S' out then spray the badge and the backing separately then put back together when dry?

plastiDIP is removable but PlastiKOTE is just another spray paint so you cant remove it without using a paint stripper. I prefer Plastikote to dip its easier to clean. the red i didn't prime just mask and spray and yeah best to do it separate then glue it back together after its all dry :)

yeah somewhere in this thread i wrapped the edge in carbon and the S in white and now the S is in plastidip. Its a lot of effort to split the rear badge so i just dipped it haha

That looks really nice mate, you considered doing the whole roof in 4D carbon? Or am I right to think it's not quite "Ravi" enough?

haha im tempted by it because its such a nice looking carbon wrap compared to the 3M stuff but then again im thinking of turning the roof into and old school game of 8 bit Pong haha
