Retrofit cruise control

Hi I was wondering if somebody can help. I have tried fitting cruise control to my car however I keep getting fault E45 implausible signal defective stalk. I already have a a wire running from pin 13 to the central electrics and the cruise has been coded to the engine and central electrics correctly however this error still keeps coming back. I have tried two different stalks this one being brand new that I purchased from vw teeside. My steering wheel control module is compatible 1K0953549CH.

Does anyone know where am going wrong or what I can do to rectify this from what I know it's supposed be pretty straight forward.

On vcds switch monitoring it picks up when I flick the on and off switch but the accelerate and de accelarate there is no response.

I have taken everything apart 3 times now and checked the coding numerous times not sure what is happening

On my pre-fl Cupra the green light doesn't come on on the dash at all and the CC works fine. I'm told it depends on the age of the car.

If you know the stalk is good, I'd check the wiring.

No indication on the dash of Pre FL here either, it just works when flick the switch and press the buttons

Yea I understand stand that on earlier models there was no light but mine still does not work. The wire from pin 13 to was already there

On my pre-fl Cupra the green light doesn't come on on the dash at all and the CC works fine. I'm told it depends on the age of the car.

If you know the stalk is good, I'd check the wiring.

My 05 TFSi Sport had Cruise and no green light either - worked fine though.

Mine has a light for cruise. When I had it fitted the first stalk we used (from a 06 TFSI Sport) didn't work and nothing happened when you turned it on and pressed the buttons. Replaced with a brand new stalk and it worked. I've been told the stalks are quite unreliable and its not unheard of for them to fail.
