So popped into my local garage on the weekend because I heard a stunning metal on metal knocking sound at the passenger wheel, propped her up and the bottom end of the coil spring has ever so graciously snapped off.

Want to get this sorted ASAP before christmas so I'm looking for some information from the community!

New coilspring is around 40 - 50 quid, so I'm thinking for an extra bit of coin I can sort out an all round upgrade!

Found these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370909688076?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 and these http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=2650732

Main question will they be alright to put on standard shocks? 30 - 35mm seems to be the normal drop but I have seen a few 20mm around

Coilovers would probably be the eventuality but until the funds come in springs will do.

Adivce? :p

Im sorry, cant answer that question. I have heard positive things about the Eibach springs, but I think H&R will do fine as well.

Im driving with a Koni Sport kit (with blue H&R springs), although my rear shocks are stock

I've had Apex springs on a previous car and would safely say Never Again

They're ok if you just want to lower the car but you'll sacrifice ride comfort

I was about to recommend H and R but having read BoostHard's comment I'd perhaps spend a bit more and buy the Eibach's

Had a look at the Koni blue ones as well but it's a 40mm drop! Wondering what else I'd need to do to accommodate that!

Yeah they look the same, well checking the KONI part numbers seem to show that they can be used with the original suspension, just it won't be lowered as much! I can live with that until I sort out new shocks.

Found a local garage that will fit them for £100 all in and tracked which isn't bad!!

Eibach springs every time, I worry about this a bit as my car has MOT advisories for rear springs corroded, don't forget that in the course of breaking the suspension to take a front spring off, you will lose the camber setting, I paid 60 quid just to have tracking and camber reset on an Ibiza, if the £100 to fit the springs and re track, includes camber reset, seems like a good deal.

Cheers Chris
