That's going to be a super car and this is going to be the best review I've looked forward to in all the years I've been on SCN. The new Cupra is going to be epic.:funk:

Looks to be a really well set up car! No question with the dsg 280 ps, dynmaic chassis etc. But i'm so sorry to say that in my opinion it is an ugly car and doesn't look very special unfortunatly :(

if your having DSG would consider the adaptive CC

seems like an amazing bit of kit

Sounds good
what sort of discount did you get ?

Just one thing have you driven a DSG car for an amount of time?

I have and to be honest i wasnt impressed , if you like driving and to be involved manual is the better choice.

Dont get sucked into the potential tuning that the DSG can bring simply to buy a car and not enjoy it.
Its my opinion and everyones will be different.

By the way the cars i have driven are Audi S4 , scirroco R and Golf R

I really wanted to love DSG but its just not for me.
I got back in my Manual Cupra and with all the issues i had with it i enjoyed driving that more than the Auto.

So if you havent driven a DSG i would suggest booking a test drive on a performance which has it and make your own mind up.

yep Cruise control its an option but gotta be a godsend in any sort of traffic

I think it's going to be strange seeing Scott's (Syphon) Cupra gone. It's been the front cover of SCN since I've been reading/joined the forum :p

I believe the adaptive cruise is probably more related to someone who does a lot of motorway mileage, helping to keep set distance etc. Rather than in general day to day traffic.

I know Scott like myself doesn't do a huge amount of motorway commuting, so its a big outlay for very little use. To be honest its unlikely it would recoup it when its sold on in the future.

As far as I'm aware the Cupra280 still comes with the normal cruise control as std, just non of the radar system for the adaptive kit.

If i was getting a manual i probably wouldnt bother but the fact that with DSG it will let you come to a full stop and speed back up without putting your foot on any pedal just sounds very good to me

Will it actually stop the car? When I tried it on a GTi is started throwing warning lights at 10mph and I bottled the test for fear of running up the arse of a bus :)

Can't discuss any prices I'm afraid, but the current Leon offer still applies on PCP - 1K contribution and 4.9%.

Thanks for the thoughts on the DSG. I've driven the Ibiza Cupra with DSG and got used to it pretty quickly. Also the new Leon for a bit as well. I don't do much stop start driving, granted, but Z and M0rk rave about theirs and I like the idea of more toys to play with. :) The extra bonus is the DSGs are getting built before the manuals. ;) and of course there is that extra .1 of a second on the 0-60 time :D

Not wishing to go off topic on the merits of DSG but this vid is interesting. Still don't know why the DSG on the Leon is a higher tax bracket and slightly worse economy - contradicts what he says at the end of the vid. http://youtu.be/lRwfvnDt7BA

That's my experience. Book time on a manual is with a pro at the wheel and the book time with dsg is what someone like me could get.

I would of had it but I have to drive a diesel and dsg is bloody ridiculous on hot diesels you want to push.

DSG was quite a treat on my old mapped CR170. Still miss the 170 DSG despite having the LCR now
