• Hi Guest There will be essential maintenance on the server on Monday 10th November from 5am meaning the website will be offline for a period of time. We will do everything to ensure the downtime is kept to a minimum.
honestly officer its the new slimline design!

:lol::lol:

I have a VOSA test station not far from me - mostly used for HGV and van testing but they have regular roadside check sites set up around the county for training the new inspectors.

There are lots of "get it fixed" tickets issued where you need to pay for an MOT test to prove its been done.

Total PITA

What do you 2.0 FR guys average to the tank? I'm 300 miles in and computer says 130 left. I was hoping for at least 450 to the tank but don't think I will make that!

Mainly a 20 mile round commute of mixed traffic and motorway driving.

Think it was about 37 litres to fuel up

380 miles on 37 ltr is 10.27 miles per ltr

10.27 x 4.55 ( ltr in a gallon ) = 46.73 MPG

Not too bad at this time of year.

Try using a lower gear and light throttle.

20mph = 2nd
30mph = 3rd
40mph = 4th
50mph = 5th
etc

I found that if i followed the gear indicator in the dash the car was always overgeared.

you're still getting 46 to the gallon which isn't too bad.

I run mine down lower than that. I'm usually 42-43 litres until the pump clicks off and then use the expansion tank/vent trick to get another 5 litres in.

I usually see 550-560 miles to 49l which equates to about 53mpg.

i pay more attention to the range on the fuel computer TBH

I run it down until it says i'm 15-20 miles from empty. I think the low fuel light comes on at about 60 miles range left.

I have unfortunately needed to run way below that.

I have had 0 miles range left and still covered another 15 till I found an open fuel station.

Handy to know it will do it but not something i will be making a habbit of.

After a hard run I noticed a loud fan noise persisting after I had switch off and locked up. Is this normal?

the car has been doing a DPF regen when you've switched it off. The fan running on is an attempt to cool things down cos the DPF regen increases the EGT.
